Florio broke the story a couple hours later (after being notified) and
Borges ended up getting FIRED from the Globe.

I did not break the Story, but I am glad I helped.
I actually made an artile that SeattleStatMan wrote on the story.
Well... I did not make the artile... my id - cupofjoe1962 made the artile
along with 3 other users who helped alert the media.

Thanks... I forgot it was Sando whose article he copied...THAT makes sense...I wish I had some info from him from his Oakland days..which I am sure were interesting..

I'm curious how Borges got to keep his HoF vote given that there was about a year and a half or two years between when he "left the Globe to pursue other interests" and the Herald hired him. Apparently you don't even have to be employed as a sports writer or have any media credentials, but you can still keep your seat on the HoF voting?

That's just it, you have the seat for life or until you retire or resign.

He should have been forced to resign after the plagarism situation but they didn't do it because he is set for life there.
