I have noticed we are on the short end of "unchallengable" calls though.
And I do agree that the league is all about parity, and us winning 4 in 6 would be laughing in the face of the competition committee (headed by Bill Polian )

Re: The Refs Don't want the Pats and Brady to Win Anymore
I don't think that the ref's have it in for us. I think that they are just human, with exception, and make mistakes. I get pissed like everyone else when I see them call a questionable penalty on us and let a flagrant penalty go on the other team.
However, there is one team that the ref's are certainly for, without a doubt. My avatar is a rare photo of a ref showing his true colors.

I have seen so many bullshlt calls lately in this league that leads me to this conclusion.
I watch football and find myself hating it more than ever with the rule changes and terrible calls in EVERY SINGLE PATS GAME.
Officiating Conspiracy Problems:
-Denver Playoff Game, Bears '06 game, and pretty much every other game.
-the 9 "Defensive Holding" calls a game
-the over-calling of Pass Interference calls by refs on the Pats
-the lack of Pass Interference calls on Pats opponents unless ridiculously blatant.
-the refs ignoring Brady getting speared, and the whole situation in general
It is very simple... the Refs and NFL do not want the Patriots to win another Superbowl... It's not good for the league. They want someone else...
I know some of you agree with me but don't have the balls to put it on here b/c you afraid of getting ripped... But i'll just say it for you guys then.
if you agree with me say so!
whether you agree with me or not you still must ask yourself this question.. Is officiating that bad lately? or does it seem that bad because we are pats fans and we are watching our own bad calls...?
Are officials in the NFL bad? Yes. Are they out to get the Patriots? No way.

And I think it goes back to the TUCK game.
Psychologically, in the minds of the NFL officials, when they are doing a Pats game, I believe that they still remember that call, and I believe that most of them believe that it was a fumble, and that the call is what catapulted the Pats into the positin that they now are in....
And, in their minds, not intentionally, on very close calls that may determine the outcome of a game, psychologically (sp.) they will call it AGAINST the Pats.
The best example was Champ Bailey's fumble in and out of the end zone on the interception return last year.
There was no way in hell that theywere going to rule in fvor of the Pats on that call because, psychologicly (sp.), they new if they ruled in favor of the Pats, they would be roasted over the coals for setting up the Pats to win, again.
Its a mind thing, and they dont even know it is happening.
BTW, will someone tell me the right way to spell that damned word above.
I have seen the Pats get their fair share of ticky tack calls for their benefit.
Brady getting roughed last week.
Daniel Graham getting a PI call in the Detroit game, which essentially put them in the red zone.
The only thing I will acknowledge is how the colts complained and changed the way illegal contact is called.
Even in the colts game their was pushing and shoving. Reggie wayne was the beneficiary of a call in the red zone I recall.
The colts have made refs call the game so tight and made it more finesse.
Re: The Refs Don't want the Pats and Brady to Win Anymore
Three factors at work here:
1. Defensive holding and defensive pass interference is getting called increasingly. This is a FACT - it's also affecting plays and techniques that are our bread and butter.
The next two are my OPINIONS:
2. NEM mentioned a psychological aversion by refs to call things our way after the tuck game. While I think that conclusion is a little over-broad, one of the most anti-Pats officiated games this year was the one Coleman worked, I think it was either the Lions or Bears game. Don't think that the tuck game wasn't in the back of Coleman's mind.
3. The one ref that does truly hate the Pats and Belichick is Jeff Triplette. I see him as the 21st century version of Ben "that was a fumble, Al!" Dreith. When I saw that Triplette was the ref for the Broncos playoff game I knew we were in trouble.

I have to disagree with your asessment of Coleman the individual official as opposed to the flag happy members of his crew in the secondary. The Chicago game you remember was an example of the the side and back judges pulling the trigger quickly under the special emphasis the Polian Tiny Testes' rules allow. Coleman has to trust his crew and accept their call to have some integrity and continuity in the officiating, but those two gentlemen certainly had hair triggers and made Polian proud. Triplette, gotta spit, excuse me.

THAT opinion, I heartily agree with. Unfortunately.

The Pats/Broncos game was one of many from last seasons' playoffs that was marred by poor calls -- heck, the officiating was THE biggest story the week after the Super Bowl.
Actually, it was a big story BEFORE the Super Bowl . . . there was a list of the "Top 10 officiating mistakes in the playoffs"--and that just covered the wild card and divisional rounds.

Re: The Refs Don't want the Pats and Brady to Win Anymore
My personal favorite was the Troy Palomalu 'fumble' after the interception in the Colts game last year. So first the refs didn't want the Steelers to win, then they did. Or maybe they wanted the Colts but not the Seahawks.
Or maybe they should keep their day job (and, sadly, they do).
When you go for a bike ride, doesn't it sometimes feel like it's all uphill, out and back? C'est la vie.

Simple.
Colts versus Steelers - they'll favor the Colts.
Steelers versus Seahawks - they'll favor the Steelers.
