Tough to say. Why haven't the Pats cliinched? If they finish 10-6 with the Jets, the Pats win the tie breaker (5th). They would be knotted up until the fifth tiebreaker when the Pats strength of schedule would give them the crown. So if they can't lose, why don't they announce them as champs?

I think Jax is the opponent.

If teh Pats and Jets finish 10-6 the Pats would finish second on the 4th tiebreaker. Conf Rec Pats 6-6 and Jets 7-5.

and jets win the division...thats why iam surprised all these guys on pats fifth quarter jumping to ideas about who they want to play...pats have a tougher 2 game schedule than the jets.

not sure how...
tenn is 7-7, for tenn to make playoffs they have to win both their games, if pats lose to both , and jets win next two...jets win div.

This will probably scare some people here but Denver will likely be our first round opponent in the playoffs. Even if Cincy manages to upset Indy tomorrow night (which will be difficult given Indy's 2-game slide) they have a short week to prepare for a road game in Denver - advantage Broncos. Denver closes at home vs. the 49ers - not a gimmie but we're talking AFC vs. NFC.

Broncos at Patriots - Saturday, January 6th on NBC at 8pm - my prediction.

EDIT-after looking through the conference standings, a Broncos/Pats rematch could be CLINCHED on Christmas night.

Here's the scenario - If:
Colts beat Bengals (probably)
Pats beat Jags (50/50)
Colts beat Texans (likely)
Ravens beat Steelers (probably)
Broncos beat Bengals (50/50)
Raiders beat Chiefs (doubtful)
Fins beat Jets on x-mas night (50/50),

then the playoff rematch will be on!

The Titans won't be in the playoffs.
