As much as I think the old logo was cooler, I just can't bring myself to buy any Pats gear with Pat Patriot. Whenever I see old Pat, I simply associate him with the era of failure. Of course, the turnaround of the franchise had nothing to do with the unis - a better front office, better coaching & better players did the trick. Still, I can't shake the association and always get my stuff with flying Elvis. Anyone else feel the same way?
Yes, I feel the same way. I have some fond memories of the old uniforms but I always associate them with the fumbling and bumbling Patriots and not the world beaters they have now become.
I always choose Flying Elvis when I buy Patriots gear.

I thought the old logo is and was great and I do not associate it with losing. I watched way to many great players wear that old uniform. I do agree it was due to be updated though. If they had enhanced the logo and made it less one dimensional and a bit more mean (a grin with beads of sweat dripping..) and put it on a silver helmet, I would have been happy.
Having said that I think our new logo (I refuse to use the elvis word) and uniform design is classic. And although and I don’t associate the old uni with losing, I do associate the new logo with winning.
A red alt jersey with the current scheme would be fantastic. Someone on here had a great photo-shop version with Kevin Faulk on a previous post.
I've been a Pats fan forever. I cannot stand Pat Patriot. It does symbolize the Sullivan (and worse) era of losing. The other thing I hate is the ridiculous Pat Patriot mascot running around at games.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck." RAH
Pat Patriot. That uni symbolized so many years of noble striving in the face of huge obstacles. This area was a NY Giant fanbase. The Pats were against huge odds, couldn't get the games on TV (legions of Pats fans grew up HATING Pat Summerall announcing Giants games acroos NE tv's that couldn't get a Pats game), didn't have a stadium (then got a concrete bunker in Foxboro). They were the unloved mutt of New England and completely ignored by the NFL. I couldn't stand the inept Sullivans either, but say what you will, they loved the team and tried their best - - they also kept it alive and in New England against much indifference and huge odds.
Winning a SB in the old uniform would be a very sweet thing for all those who remember loving and rooting for their underdog mutt.
P.S. It could actually happen someday. Think of the extra $$$$ the Pats would make on marketing the new-old gear. I understand they market it now, but the national exposure would give a huge push to BOTH the new and old unis.

Pat Patriot would kick the bejeebers out of Elvis. This is a football
team. A tough snarling C decked out in the gear of our founding fathers.
Or, a resemblance to someone who died puking into a toilet.

Agreed. Pat Patriot is a very dated-looking cartoon character, poorly conceived as a helmet logo. From a distance it looks like a static tripod and will forever suggest how "stuck" the franchise was in its cheap, inept, losing ways, NEVER winning a championship. Flying Elvis suggests a sense of forward motion, moving into the future, and will forever be associated with the team's greatest successes.
