I agree ( nice video - I didn't see the draft when he was picked) I was being facetious like Lobel. The frustrating thing about Watson was that he would make 2 plays a year that would be all world. And hundreds of plays that were meh.

Not a good sign when the highlight of a TE's career is chasing down a corner to prevent a TD return (in a losing effort).

Why not? If Tony Gonzalez or Shannon Sharpe had made that play, it would be one of the very best highlights of his career.

Now, Watson can do nothing the remainder of pre season. He had his big game.

That was actually one of the plays that really let me personally cut him some slack. It was a hell of a play, and one that should be an example to all players out there about hustling on every play.

“On a day when they could have had impact players David Terrell or Koren Robinson..they took Georgia defensive tackle Richard Seymour, who had 1 sacks last season in the pass-happy SEC and is too tall to play tackle at 6-6 and too slow to play defensive end. This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”

I'm not familiar with particular plays in either of their careers, but I would want an offensive player's highlights to have something to do with offense. Ideally in winning games.

Absolutely. I'm not criticizing the play. My point is that he didn't do enough that was memorable as a tight end.

Real nice catch, I wish him well he was a class guy.

However, making a great athletic play running away from coverage doesn't surprise me. The reason we're better off now is all our tight ends will fight for the ball and the YAC (I hope).

My lasting memory of Watson won't be that D play, it will be a touchdown catch he let a 180 pound cornerback wrestle away from him. Don't remember when, though he got out fought for balls often.

Built like Tarzan plays like Jane.

See, highlights are great plays made by a player. It's really that simple. Offense, defense, special teams.... they're all plays.
