Predict the Score Contest, Week 5 MIA @ NE Results
I was sitting in my seat in Section 238 with 1:54 to go, cheering for the Pats to get the TD. I think I was the loudest one in a section full of rabid lifelong fans... but maybe I just thought so because the two guys on my right were wearing Dolphin green and the four seats to my left had been empty since the Dad and Mom and two preschoolers in them left during the third quarter. Anyway, that couldn't dull the thrill of being at Gillette in my brand new authentic Patriots #55 jersey. (Got a great deal on it, just had to ask my Mom to sew "Seau" on the back... unfortunately "Mc" and "st" still shows but I'll get that fixed soon).
But then... with the score 20-10... Brady kneels?!? I couldn't believe it. My blood ran cold in horror, and like a good fan I voiced my displeasure by booing. I ignored the dirty looks and shouted "TD... TD... TD..."
A guy 2 rows in front who was also booing looked back at me and shouted "forget the TD, a field goal is enough. FG! FG! FG!". What a moron, I said to myself, why in the world would you go for just 3, that does no good. Unfortunately sometimes when I say things to myself I forget to not also say them out loud, and he looked angry at being called a moron. He shouted up at me "the spread was 10, I have 500 bucks riding on this game! FG! FG! FG!"
I looked at him with indignation. "How dare you defile the Patriots by rooting for them solely to line your pocket! I will have you know I predicted them to win this game 27 to 10 in the Predict the Score contest on patsfans dot com, and winning that contest is worth something infinitely more valuable than money!"
He looked back at me. "And what is that?"
"Bragging rights."
He stared at me a moment, then turned around and resumed yelling, only this time it was "TD! TD! TD!" Another patsfans.com convert.
(My brother in law the lawyer says that I need to add a disclaimer that the phrase "infinitely more valuable than money" is not to be taken literally, and this week's Perfect Score winners Ahriman, Jacky Roberts, MrTibbs and Oswlek have no standing for any legal action against me. Congratulations! to them anyway!)

Once again, I have displayed my awesomeness with a second perfect score this season. The Cincy game really hurt me badly, but I have vaulted back into contention.

Woo Hoo!!! Thanks Alamo for all your hard work and for making me Queen For A Day (or at least the weekend!!). I am off to Buffalo for my weekend in the sun where I am sure I will return to the pack come Monday morning! Good luck to everyone and have a great weekend! Go Pats!!
I'd just like to make it clear that, owing to a clerical error (understandable given the enormous amount of work needed to run this contest) my performance this week was not atrocious -- merely bad.
