Next year we have 33M to spend on essentially 11 roster spots so we should target some quality FA pickups. I'd like to see that spent on our defense while picking Best Player Available in the draft.
Also it seems that unless performance picks up, Colvin, Vrabel and Faulk seem expensive for their current level of production.

Brown is on a year to year basis at this point in his career. There is absolutely no need to extend Brown. As long as he has got enough in the tank to earn a roster spot AND wants to keep playing, he'll be a Patriot. Regarding TB, it is not quite the same case, however, it has some similarities. He is getting a little long in the tooth but he is a Player and a Patriot. If he wants to play and still is capable, he has a spot on this team. The Patriots will pay him a relatively fair amount for those services too. The need to extend Brown, and likely TB, is just not there. I just don't see any extensions happening with the exception of Samuel. Graham is a goner imho. No way the Patriots will pay what some other team is willing to pay (which is likely overpay). I think Samuel has the better chance to extend or resign. My gut tells me the Patriots aren't going to get much of a discount if they want to though.
