It's getting awfully difficult to follow this team. There are so many stupid and/or uninformed opinions everywhere. It doesn't matter if it's a message board like this one, radio, newspapers, television, or the internet. It's everywhere.
I used to be addicted to Patriots coverage. I had to read every single article I could find. But not anymore. The coverage is so poor.
But my biggest complaint is with my fellow fans. It's as if all the Talking idiot heads like Felger and Borges have brainwashed you people. Look at the posts and threads on this message board. It's a disgrace.
1) The Patriots are not throwing the season.
2) The Patriots never planned on having this much cap room left.
3) There "ARE" techniques involving likely-to-be-earned and unlikely-to-be-earned bonuses that allow teams to "roll" cap surpluses into future seasons.
4) Yes, the Patriots are a flawed football team but so is everyone else. Winning is hard. That's why winning three Super Bowls is SPECIAL.
5) Just b/c we're struggling and/or persevering through hard times, doesn't mean all the good times are gong. Relax people. Enjoy the ride. The best seasons are the ones where the team is able to overcome some kind of adversity.
6) Can we please stop following the flawed tendencies of the media and hold off from passing judgment until the season plays itself out. What's the rush?
7) Man Law Amendment. Any person who crosses path with Ron Borges is legally allowed to beat that jerk to a bloody pulp.
7b) Man Law Addendum. Any person who beats up Borges and then duck tapes him naked to a sign, tree, or light post shall receive a winning lottery ticket in the next drawing.
8) Tom Brady is off limits. Yes he's struggling but Tom has EARNED everyone's respect and that can never change.
9) Bill Belichick is off limits. Yes, there are some situations that didn't turn out as well as we would have liked (Law & Branch) but if you're a true Patriot s fan you should remember the Dick Macpherson days. Nuff said.
10) Just b/c the Patriots might lose by one hundred points in Cincinnatti doesn't justify the BS the critics are dishing out right now. This team is a work in progress and our season will be judged at its conclusion , not after week four.
Bonus: Everybody who disagrees with me can F.CK OFF!!!!!
VERY well said...it is digraceful all that has been said...re;ax...all will be OK..

There's nothing more annoying than those who came on the board and had threads like "Should Brady retire?" or "Where's Cassel?"
I HATE those.
I CRITIQUE Brady - whose PERFORMANCE is by all means worthy of criticism thus far. But negatively critiquing Brady's entire career makeup is pure lunacy. It's nearly impossible.
If you read the Town Charter of Homerville, it clearly states that booing this team on it's home field is not allowed.
Silent treatment is OK because the home team expects applause and support. If there is silence, it has the same effect as booing without giving aid and comfort to the opposing team.

But, the criticism must be focused, specific, and accurate. If it meets those tests, it's not negitive.
Far too many people will go emotional, embellish, and will broad brush everything. Then they go on and speculate, wildly in many cases, and have very little, if any, accurate information to back them up.
I'm impressed, that new medication not only allows for moments of lucidity, but it indicates the extent of the damage isn't as wide spread (yet) as we thought.

I hate all of this "homer" crap. That applies to bad teams. If I thought the Celtics had any chance at a title this year i'd be a homer. If I could compare the Celts roster to the Heat and make any arguement that they're at all comparable or that we match up well with them, then I'd be a homer.
But refusing to criticize BB and Brady because:
1) its only been three games
2) the team tends to figure out what they've got through the first 6-10 weeks and make a playoff drive after that
3) they have a history of success
4) there was no way to avoid Deion holding out other than tearing up his final year and overpaying him
5) They're 2-1, 2-0 in their division
6) I *gasp* enjoy rooting for and believing in the team rather than tearing it down
The "quality" of this board isn't declining because of anyone posting "outrageous" opinions such as "bench Brady"..."fire Belichick", and the other exaggerations that the social misfits...ah...I mean self-identified "veterans" base their pointless rants around but rather because these self-identified "veterans", apparently have some biological NEED to whine about ANY posted opinion which doesn't meet their "standards" [i.e. homerism or extremely qualified criticism]. Ignoring for now that the vast majority of the posts that these "veterans" disagree with have NOT been particularly outrageous, the fact remains that there is a VERY SIMPLE technique one can use when confronted with something one regards as "outrageous"....ADDRESS THE ARGUMENT or if you think it not worthwhile to do so, IGNORE THE POST. These "veterans", despite their perpetual presence on this board apparently fail to realise that the easiest way to get rid of a disagreeable post isn't to CONSTANTLY ADD immature, whining rants about "newbies" to the thread but simply to ignore it. A very cool thing happens then...the thread disappears from the front of the page. Here's another FYI for the "veterans"....if you think a post was made with the intent to "get under your skin" or "get attention", then again, the APPROPRIATE course of action is NOT to give into the "troll" by creating NEW threads devoting to whining about said "trolls". It's quite ironic that many of these posts that the "veterans" object to are kept alive for others to see not by additional posts by "newbies" but by additional posts by the "veterans". If you want "intelligent football conversation", perhaps you should spend your time creating posts that contain points that bring about such conversation rather than posts, such as this thread, that simply demonstrate that you're an attention starved, immature, insecure, intolerant idiot, seeking the approval of others of your kind.

Would I be too much of a Homer if I pointed out that your lack of parargraphs make your post unreadable?
Btw, I just mentioned this thread to my girlfriend who watches most Pats games with me but isn't much of a football fan.
Her: Why would anyone boo Tom Brady?
Me: Because he's been pretty bad so far this year.
Her: So?
I couldn't really explain it because I don't understand it, and I figured she didn't really care so I thought there was no need to elaborate. About ten seconds later she chimed in with:
Her: You know, that's the kind of thing I'd expect from Yankees fans.

I couldn't have said it any better myself.
Beautiful! Exactly the kind of thing I was trying to say on the "Amazed" thread. That GF of yours is a keeper, dude.
