Default Why Thursday nights for Pats preseason games?

I've wondered this for a while now -- why Thursday night for the Pats during preseason? Anyone know? Friday night would be bad because of the weekend commuter traffic around Boston, but I'd think the Krafts would want the games on Saturday or Sunday to drive more business to Patriot Place. I remember during the Bledsoe years there were some preseason games on weekend afternoons. The only guess I could offer on them avoiding Saturday would be because of the Jewish sabbath. Don't know why they can't/don't play on Sundays.

When they play the 4th preseason game, they have a couple of extra days to prepare for the first regular season game.

Right, I know that, but it doesn't explain why the others are Thursday. BB never plays starters in the fourth game anyway.

I hate the Thursday games, it's one night where I have to work late.

Having it the same day every week allows the Pats to have ths ame work schedule between games. Having a shorten or longer work week during the preseason is an unneccessary disruption. When they do it during the season, it screws with players routines that is unneccessary to do during the preseason.
