Just watched on ESPN2 the NFL films about the decade of the NE Patriots. I thought that it was a 2009 yearbook like the one they showed on the Steelers just before.
It was a half hour recap in which the NFL declares the Patriots the team of the decade. I'll have to order this, as it brought a lump in my throat watching it.
If on 1/1/2000 someone would have told me that the Patriots, my Patriots, would win 3 out of 4 SB's and break all kinds of records for wins, I told them they were nuts. I would have settle for one SB win.
That was a great film to watch even as short as it was.

Watched it while at the gym, obviously nothing else was on.
Have to say though that Bruschi and Rodney Harrison were some real great football players. They were what those Patriot teams were about and part of the reason they reigned over the NFL for those years.
Glad they're gone but I would have loved them if they were on my team.
It was an eye opener to see how much the team has changed from the SB years until now, especially on the defensive side of the ball. This is a completely new Patriots team and it is time for them to build their legacy.

That was a good recap, most of it I've seen in other places. Says alot when the only 09 highlights in the 09 highlight video are from the Titans and Jags games. Kinda surprised they didn't throw the opener in there too. But overall it was fun putting the last decade in perspective.
Thankfully there were no SB42 lowlights. No Brady injury lowlights. No Colts lowlights. And most definitely no Ray Rice lowlights.
So rather than the piece actually being an '09 yearbook' it was actually about the Pats being the 'team of the decade'. Interesting that espn scheduled the Steelers '09 yearbook' immediately prior - doubtful it was a coincidence. I guess the placement makes them runnerup to the mythical 'team of the decade' - though I'm sure it must have irked all the Pittsburgh fans that watched the Steeler segment, and then realized it was simply the undercard to the main show.

And who caused them to be the under card;] There probably never will be another run like that and if there is, doubtful anytime soon. Gone are the days when SBs were common here, I'd die for one now. After seeing Indy and Pittsburgh raise the trophy it makes me feel as if the Patriots have to
In any case, I suppose we can be like those Steeler and 49er fans now talking about the good old days. At least we have fond memories to look back on when things get depressing. Though I must say that I see the Pats contending for a good long while, because I think a lot of these draft picks will pan out.
To highlight an idea expressed earlier in this thread. That dynasty is over. Here's to hoping for the start of a new dynasty.

This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”
