Say what you will about Jenkins, when he's not injured, he's par with the best NT's in the league, if not better than most.

However, I admit, Welker would become an even bigger threat minus Revis.
Actually, Moss would become an even bigger threat. Welker wouldn't benefit from it unless Revis lined up directly over him. And losing Revis would be a lot more of a blow to your defense than losing Jenkins would.

The funny thing is that the Jets were nothing special last year by any stretch of a New Yorker's Rock on the Block vivid imagination.

They did okay for a while in the playoffs, I will grant them that. However nothing in the regular season to write home about. 7-7 and two lay downs. Literally an AVERAGE team. How the defense gets better with addition by subtraction is beyond me...

Only Jets fans could take themselves this seriously, other team's fans tend to understand their strengths and weaknesses, at least to some degree.

This whole Jets thing is a moonshot and a prayer.

It's not just addition by subtraction- it's subtraction of their best defender.

Only a Jester could try to spin it to be a positive, and only a Jester could try to defend the indefensible by a guy who got hurt six games into the season and who wasn't really missed the rest of the year.

i dont see anyone calling for the demise of the Pats because Mankins is holding out.
its different when its a veteren or a rookie who is holding out.
Revis(or Mankins for that matter)knows the system, knows the coaching staff and know how to preper his body for the season.

dont make it out to be more then what it is.
all of us know that Revis will sign a contract extension with the Jets and once he get his money he will be happy and thats what important.

i know you guys hate the Jets(and thats fine, you are who you are) but sometimes that hate cloud your judgment

Are you (a Jets fan) saying that Mankins is the caliber of player that Revis is? Even close to that caliber? Because if you think that's the case, please go on the record with that now...

And what team are you a fan of? Also, it would help your credibility to use spell-check and write in complete sentences.

Think of it this way,

Team A loses the "best defender in the league".

Team B loses a Pro Bowl player who isn't even a surefire vote for the number one left guard in the league. And even if he was, he's still a left guard.

What team takes the bigger hit?

i am a Jets fan.

english is not my first language so sometimes i make a few mistakes when i write.

i speak it very well though

Revis is not the same level as Mankins, thats true but its just a contract dispute with a player who been enough years in the league so i dont think missing time in tc for him will have the same effect it has on rookies, and like i said we all know that Revis will sign a big contract extension with the Jets soon enough.

Mankins is a great guard, but he isn't the best, nor is he the be all and end all of the Patriots offense. Someone would be able to step in and play decently enough.

Revis IS the Jets defense. Your #1 becomes Cromartie? The same guy who quit on the Chargers down the stretch and got run out of town? The guy who's been named in 5 different paternity suits because he can he only use one head effectively? The Jets pass rush is nothing special, and that's why Revis is such a beast, he can cover his man with the opposing QB getting time to throw.

Anyways, once Revis gets paid, four more guys will step up and want to get paid, and then this revolving door of turmoil continues around Jets camp. Which is great, since they'll be the 3rd best team in the AFCE anyways.
