He was 10 for 10 from beyond 40 yards and 3 for 3 from 50+ yards

He definitely fills a need, I thought the kid from UVA was a better pick (Connor Hughes), but he'll do fine here. I'm starting to understand what BB said last week about this draft being "extremely deep at LB". What he's saying was, we ain't picking one until late.

Pro Football draft guide states "the kicker has a leg to convert from beyond 50 and has been very reliable inside 40".

IMO, He was the only kicker worth drafting...

I like this pick. Best kicker on the board. Just as long as we don't draft another kicker 14 picks from now. . .

I'd rather take him a little too high then try to get maximum draft value, see him get taken, and we go into the season with Gramatica.

A ton of players have been "reached" for so far in this draft based on what experts think, so it's impossible to say that he would have lasted until a certain point.

when you don't have a kicker (or his name is battlescar grammatica), you have to make sure you draft your guy....you can't wait till his value spot, or someone else will step up and take him...

To take him this high, he must have been the only kicker we really liked and didn't want to risk losing him.
