One thing I can tell you is that if you get NESN but do not get the MLB Extra Innings you will not get the Red Sox games.
I'm talking Directv here.
I had MLB EI last 2 years and watched the Sox on NESN. This year I thought I never watch any non-Sox games and dropped MLB EI. That causes NESN to blackout during Red Sox games.
As far as Pats games, you will get them all with the NFL Sunday Ticket.

Are you "in market" or out of market?

The restriction I am seeing involves a local blackout that doesn't have anything to do with MLB Extra Innings restrictions but rather non-Sunday night, Sunday afternoon, or Saturday afternoon nationally televised games vs. locally televised games. When they are televised nationally outside those three windows they are blacked out on the national channel and only appear locally. This is how we were able to see Braves and Cubs and White Sox games for years on WGN and TBS.

I am also not seeing it with the NBA or NHL so Celtics games on CSN-NE and Bruins games on NESN may not be blacked out.

I am out of market. I get NESN on the dish, but it blacks out for Red Soz games. It didnt (other than when the game was on ESPN or Fox etc) when I had Extra Innings.

OK. What is going on found here:

NESN Out Of Market Blackouts - A Response - Sons of Sam Horn

WGN can show their games of the Cubs and White Sox thanks to being a superstation and not a regional sports network like NESN so no Red Sox unfortunately. Same is true for the Bruins and Celtics with their leagues going the same route as MLB with out of market broadcast clampdowns.

If I understand your question correctly, the answer is "none of the above" have Patriots games on them. If you are out of market, the only way to be guaranteed the Patriots is to get DirecTV and the NFL Sunday Ticket. I recommend you spend the extra $99 for the "Superfan" HD package.

No Bruins?? Just kidding. I live in Pa. now. The only good thing about the sports package is that you get the fluff around the games. You don't get the games themselves. They will all be blacked out. The only games you will get are the national games; Pats on ESPN/Sunday Night/your local CBS affiliate. Need NFL Sunday ticket to get the rest. Same with Sox. Need MLB Extra Innings even if you subscribe to sports pack because NESN is blacked out when Sox/Bruins come on. CSNNE will be the same for Celtics. Blacked out during the games. You will need NBA Season Pass.

WSBK isn't UPN anymore; UPN does not exist, it merged with WB a few years ago to become the CW, which is WLVI in Boston, the old WB affiliate.

As for which stations play Patriots games, none of them do. NESN is owned by the Red Sox and plays Red Sox and Bruins games. CSN plays Celtics games. WSBK is just an independent station where the most Patriots coverage you'll see is when the 5th Quarter postgame show from WBZ gets moved over to WSBK, since they are sister stations.

But only CBS, FOX, NBC, EPSN, and NFL Network will ever play Patriots games. The local CBS affiliate in Boston is WBZ, and given that the Patriots are an AFC team, that's where you'll see most of the games.

Right, WGN gets an exception since they're a superstation (just like TBS did when they had Braves games). But even if you get regional sports networks from your providers (DirecTV has most of them; Verizon FiOS has YES and SNY), you will be blacked out from live games unless you subscribe to the appropriate out-of-market package (MLB Extra Innings, NBA League Pass, NHL Center Ice, ESPN GamePlan, ESPN FullCourt...)

If you want the Pats, you gotta get DirecTV and get the Sunday Ticket or you are out of luck. Usually around this time, they start to run deals to get new subscribers which basically gives you the Sunday Ticket and Superfan for free if you take the premium package.
