Honestly, if this is the case, than every single boxer will have this. Most boxers get hit harder than any football player.

In addition, one case means nothing. There is no evidence to suggest that he did not have any sort of brain abnormality before football.

It could have been from a number of things, but if it turns out to be from playing football, is an 18-game season really that a good of idea?

What does one have to do with the other? I would much rather have an 18 game season that counts than an 18 game season with two that don't count. It would be preferable to have say a 58-60 man Roster, with 53 active plus a half season Disabled List, as well as IR, and a shortened PUP, than what we have now.

Players would not have to play when injured, and subs would be there for every position. Situation substitution would be more prevalent and "platooning" or rotation at more positions would be possible. That would keep everyone healthier and fresher.

A leading scientist from Oxford University stated that with the ratio of shots to the head, athletes who participate at kickboxing and MMA are most likely to suffer from brain related injuries in later life. Boxing and Ice Hockey come further down the list at 3 and 5 after Rugby at 4.

Not that this helps boxers, but its got nothing to do with getting hit hard, and everything to do with getting hit repeatedly. They're finding Lineman have all sorts of concussive damage from hitting each other in the heads.
