Default Arrington gets screwed AGAIN!

From KFFL:
Giants | Agent says contract terrible for Arrington
Mon, 24 Apr 2006 17:59:58 -0700

Paul Schwartz, of the New York Post, reports an agent with knowledge of New York Giants LB LaVar Arrington's contract said the contract from Arrington's point of view is terrible. His $5.25 signing bonus is virtually inconsequential when pro-rated over seven-years and the roster bonuses over the first two years are based on playing time.

Once again the Postons have done him in. Remember he PAID the Redskins 4 million dollars to release him. How and why these guys still have clients is beyond me.

Any agent who does not know that the new CBA limits the proration of signing bonuses given out this year to 5 years is not one I would take advice from.

That's just it, Miguel. Arrington continues to take their advice even after they cost him money when he was with the Redskins. You would think that the guy would have learned by now. After that debacle I would have fired them. I guess when it comes to business, Arrington just isn't that smart.

I was not referring to the Postons. I was referring to the agent quoted in the KFFL piece.

I agree with you. But I still think that the Postons do more harm than good SOMETIMES.

He (Arringotn) is not the first guy to over-estimate his worth in the market. I don't think he got screwed in hte sense that he should have gotten more from the Giants. He was probably lucky to get as much as he did.

The screwing was self-inflicted if his new contract (minus the fokur mil) will pay him less than his old contract would have.

It seems pretty simple to me. EIther he will make MORE money by buying out his old contract, or he will make less.

You have to wonder how Ty Law is feeling right now, after teams passed on him when the big money was being handed and now they don't even seem to know how to do contracts.
