I hadn't heard they put the franchise on him, so that puts a whole different spin on it.
Can you tell I am no Seymour fan? I was trying to be objective! LOL!

The man was traded to the most garbage team in the league. Of course he doesnt really want to continue playing out there, but he's caught between a rock and a hard place. Im sure he'll play this season out under that one-year franchise tender, and next year move on to an actual team.

A punk. Pure and simple. Dating all the way back to Athens.

More evidence that taking people off of ignore is just a waste of time, since they'll end up back on there almost every time. Oh, well... the list continues to get repopulated.

Can't talk to Seymour without the Raiders' permission. And I guarantee they won't give the Pats permission.

Though Oakland may not be the preferred place of employment for Seymour (or any other NFL player), it's not a bad decision for Seymour to at least listen to what the Raiders are offering. If there ends up being a lockout in 2011 I would guess he would be second guessing himself for turning down a nice signing bonus, and if that does happen he would probably command a bit less in 2012; he'll be 33 then. On the other hand if a new CBA is worked out and there's no lockout, there's a good chance the owners will stand firm on limiting or reducing the salary cap. In that case he may be able to get a better offer this year than he would in 2011. Davis did say a year ago that the Raiders sometimes have to overpay for players, so if he's willing to pay far more than any other team will, it would make sense for Seymour to at least consider the offer.

I wish Seymour well. He was a great Patriot.

seymour, alredy has 3 rings so if oakland is willing to give him the long term deal that he is looking for why not stay. oakland could be a playoff team in a year or two in the weak AFC west.

Good grief, a voice of reason and humanity.

And speaking of hamstrings, I drink a deep draft to Seymour's endeavor to bankrupt the Raiders, crippling their ability to pay anyone else this season.

Absolutely. Greatest lineman ever.

Idiot comments in this thread. One year, besides a pre-op knee, and sprained ankle, he played with what looked like a couch for a studio apartment on one of his arms.

Oh, those keyboard warriors.
