Default 2 TE 2 WR formation

With the selection of Gronkowski and Hernandez in addition to Crumpler, I am really excited about the potential offensive production from this formation. I haven't been this excited since we had Graham and Watson.

In the Raven debacle, the TEs only had 2 catches for 5 yards. And to be honest, I think BB got sick of the lack of production from the TE position. When we got in this formation, it was basically a signal to the defense that Maroney was running the ball.

Now we got the weapons to make the defense pay with playaction.

Completely agree, very Excited by this.

Crumpler can even be used on 3rd and 1 playaction passes. Just a quick curl or out and Tom can hit him between the eyes for the first down.

I like the two TE but our TE blew chunks for a few years. These two and Crumpler are certainly interesting although we have tons of WR also; all kinds of possible formations with what should be our best WR/TE group ever, certainly the deepest.

I can imagine.
Like in a 3rd and 4 or 5.
Recieving:
-Hernandez
-Gronkowsky
-Welker
-Edelman

It is impossible to stop it, just impossible. put Revis Woodson Bailey and Asomugha, they ain't gonna stop it, its impossible.

Even though I hate when people use the word scary in this context, I don't care. This offense has the potential to be really scary this season.

The great thing about the Saints last year was the offense had no many weapons they were almost impossible to cover. I think we're quickly heading in that direction.

Exactly .............. that's the thing about the Saints last year ........ they had so many packages that they could beat you with.......

I feel totally fine with 3 WR package, Moss, Holt and then Edelman/Welker in the slot.

But now the multiple TE package is a threat as well.

TEs can beat the Jets blitz, Revis or no Revis.

Hernandez fits a need at TE and WR simultaneously. He's someone that can line up next to the tackle or in the slot at the WR position. The perfect H-Back, IMO, and (as a Gator and Pats fan... you know I'm happy ) I'm shocked that he fell that far. He instantaneously presents match up problems for any defense should he stay healthy.

This will make the Patriots be less predictable on offense as well. Last year a problem with our offense was that we were too predictable. I can remember one game, not sure which one but we only ran 2 offensive sets the entire game. This will definitely change, we have so many more options now. This doesnt necarcarily guarantee our success, beacuse they players will have to make the plays, but it definitely improves our chances
