Re: FA WR: Reed highly unlikely to sign, no interest in Kevin Curtis
I'm normally with the FO, but I have to say it's quite the head scratcher when you have a handful of guys available at position we need immediate help and no move is made. I can see not going for the big money players but there's some solid WR's out there who probably won't demand much.
And yeah, hard to see a rookie helping us much this year. That's great for the long term but what's the plan for this year??

If they go into the season with the current status of the receiving corps and with a rookie WR or 2 from the draft it can come back to bite them in the ass hard.

Ya we saw how they looked at WR3 last year, and that was with a STUD wr2.
Sorry, I'm not buying that, I know you are though.

I guess drafting BUMS like "I never play cuz I suck" Wheatley,"see the back of my Jersey as I get burned...AGAIN" Wilhiite, and "maybe my knee will let me play by my 4th year" Tate, wasn't good enough,we've got a guy that is giving Matt Millen a run for his $ by drafting a mediocre special teams player and giving him 1st Rd. cake.
Pass rush? Uneccessary when you have 72 CBS playing.
Lbs? What for, we have no pass rush, they gonna chuck it at our lousy CBS...all 72 of them bums
Re: FA WR: Reed highly unlikely to sign, no interest in Kevin Curtis
Tate is fine college prospect with no traning camp and one game of experience. It seems very risky to rely on him being a competent starter opposite Moss. And if Moss were injured, I guess we could win by just relying on our running game, even when there is no passing game.
Unless we have a serious improvement at wide receiver, Moss will be double-teamed on every single play.

I agree. although we probably draft WR, I don't want to roll the dice without a solid vet.
Lots of stuff on the blog, but this stood out as comforting.

Kraft put significant weight on the upcoming NFL draft as being a key part to the team's offseason plan. "We always felt that this draft would be a huge draft," he said, recognizing that more players than usual have entered the draft because of the league's unsettled labor situation. Kraft added, "I think between June and the start of the season, you will probably see significantly more players getting released with veteran-type experience than you have in the past."
