I know its in vogue in lately to throw away our 2nd round picks as if they're entirely expendable when in fact they are not. This is one risk, however, I think we should take. Carriker projected best as 3-4 end coming out of college. He is massively strong at 6-6 300lbs (one of the stronger lifters in recent Nebraska history). He has had injury issues which should lessen the Ram's asking price. Finally, there is void at end. If his shoulder issues are resolved I say get the man here asap. He was, I think, the 13th overall pick in 07 so his salary shouldn't be unmanageable.

All this in reference to Reiss' latest blog, he says the Redskins have contacted the Rams about Adam.

Even when he is healthy he's not really that good. I wouldn't want to give up a 2nd round pick for him. Honestly I'd rather let Pryor try his hand at DE or just draft Odrick.

That guy is horrible. I remember people on this board hyping up this guy and wanting him when we had Seymour, Warren and Green.

He was injured all of last season and did nothing spectacular his rookie season. I don't see how that is a sufficient sample to deem him a bad player. No question it is a risk. I don't see why the Carriker I watched in college (the one who was healthy) couldn't do all the things Seymour was asked to do here. Question is whether he is that guy in the NFL and whether his injuries prevent him from being that. He is still really young in any case.

In my limited observation of him during his Sr.Bowl, he was very impressive. Whether he can 2-gap, who knows. He was certainly blowing up the o-line at the SR Bowl, however.

Conditional 2011 3rd round pick at the most. I don't want to pay anything significant if he continues to be a bust. And those injuries aren't promising either.

I'd give a 3rd, possibly 2nd if he is on the field for 65% of the team's defensive snaps or something conditional like that.
