I'm dead serious. Anyone who's done even a few hours of research on the issue of "climate change" should come to the conclusion that proponents of the AGW (Anthropogenic Global Warming) or MMGW (Man Made Global Warming) theory have NOT adequately backed up their claims.
Before I'd lend my name to any foundation supporting legislation to combat "climate change" I'd like data that would confirm that the RATE of change in the Earth's climate is UNPRECEDENTED, the planet's climate has been changing throughout it's history so just saying that there is "climate change" actually doesn't mean very much.
Next, I would like to see the RAW DATA with the footnoted methodology that the CRU, GISS, and GHCN are using to base their conclusions on but no, this info is not available to the general public. If thousands of independent climate scientists had access to that data and all independently arrived at more or less the same conclusions you would have something, that would be real science, not the half-truths and junk-science people like Al Gore and other AGW proponents spew, and it's most unfortunate that Tom Brady is now in this category.
So, if one is going to advocate for a foundation that supports the AGW theory I think you had damn well do your homework before doing so. I guarantee Brady didn't do his homework on this, it sounds nice and it's what trendy celebrity types do even though the proposed legislation to combat supposed "climate change" would mean taxes so high that our economy would be on par with Mexico's and laws so onerous that almost no part of your life would not be regulated by the government, including whether you'd be legally allowed to have children.
Ever see Rocky 3? Remember when Mickey said that Rocky had fallen victim to the absolute worst thing that could happen to a fighter: he became civilized. It's pretty clear that his focus is more about being a celebrity than about being the best QB ever. I wish he'd do some thorough thinking and decide what he wants, if it's to be a celebrity then he should move to LA and do it, if he wants to be a football player then he should stop this stupid nonsense and start working his tail off to become TFB again. I guarantee you that Tebow is willing to work like there's no tomorrow to be the best he can be.
Ok, I know many on this board will want to stone me for writing this but so be it, rant mode off.
Plenty of people happen to believe that climate change exists because it's common sense, something your ridiculous level of paranoia would indicate you lack. Carbon dioxide levels are directly related to the planet's temperature, which has been proven time and time again. The idea that humans can't change our environment is ignorant at best.
Holding a similar opinion doesn't make Brady a "cool celebrity" who doesn't care about football. Anyone who's watched the guy play knows he's all about winning. Brady is a leader. He's not going to come out and support something he hasn't thought about. You don't have to be macho-man conservative to be a successful athlete.

1 - Please point out ANY incorrect point I made about why AGW/MMGW is bull****. If you cannot then do NOT assert that I don't know what I'm talking about.
2- Ask yourself "why" he's doing it in the first place? It's to be a trendy celebrity because that's what's important to him now.
3 - Brady has the greatest desire to win? When was the last time he won the parking spot that goes to the guy who puts the most time in?
I'm not talking about golbal warming, I couldn't give a **** about it. I'm talking about how you are wrong about Brady.
Why does Peyton Manning do MasterCard commercials? Why did LT do Campell's soup videos? Why do any athletes do commercials? It's all for exposure and extra cash. To suggest that this is because he wants to be a trendy celeb is utterly retarded.
As I said to #3 before: "Thank you Felger." That has nothing to do with your will to win. He's got a family that he needs to spend time with now. I'm pretty sure he still works pretty damn hard on his own. I can't believe we are actually even having this discussion. To question Brady's desire to win is ridiculous. He's one of the most competitive players in the league and he hates to lose more than any player on the Pats. Yeah let's draft Tebow b/c TB is too much of a celebrity. That's a genius idea.
It's really nice of you to bad mouth a guy that has brought you 3 SB rings in 4 SB appearances and has been the QB of the greatest team of the past decade. You're a spoiled little ***** if you're going to complain about Brady. Do you know how many other teams would KILL to have Brady as their QB? Some of your suggested player acquisitions and philosophies/strategies are strange and silly, but this argument is just straight RETARDED.

Boy, you should be glad you're not a Colts fan. If you question Brady for his media appearances imagine how you'd feel seeing Peyton's face at least twice every commercial break. Bet you'd write a thousand words on how he didn't even do his research about cookies, and that Oreos are severely overrated.
The fact that you are saying Tom Brady has lost his drive because of a 1 minute video recording is absolutely mind-boggling. And frankly, who gives a flying **** about his political-economical inclinations? I mean, how does this come into play? You're saying that if he made a 1 minute long public statement about how the AGW theory is fundamentally flawed you'd somehow feel better about him as the quarterback of the New England Patriots? Really, this is just absurd on a myriad of different levels.
I actually wouldn't have an issue with him doing commercials to put more money into his pocket, that would just make him human. I would bet big money he didn't get paid for that video, he's not doing it to make money but because he wants to be in the trendy celebrity crowd.
It's not simply this commercial that bothers me, for a while he has been changing into Mr. Celebrity, this is just one event in a growing pattern of behavior.
You know what, there is nothing I'd like more than for him to prove me wrong, I guess we'll just have to see how he does next season to see if I'm right.

I'll have to re-think my ideas about how the Pats and all 31 other teams will do this year, and now base my 2010 predictions on all 32 starting quarteback's views on global warming and the number of endorsements they have.
Good lord, maybe he didn't spend 60 hours vetting the information because, you know....he's a football player and probably better spends that time practicing and conditioning?
I guess some of you would be happier with the new QB flavor of the week bandwagon. I'll take Tom f'n Brady any day of the week.

Pretty sure this isn't a science forum or politics forum. If you absolutely insist on launching into idiotic rants, at least do it in the right place. And if you really do want to bet money on why he agreed to do the PSA, just stick with "because his wife told him to."
And in case you missed it: yes, I'm calling you an idiot. Your opinion on whether or not he's become too 'civilized' manages to be pointless, arrogant, absurd, AND stupid. It would almost be impressive, if it wasn't so pathetic.
