Default Would you trade 2 low firsts for a top NT?

WE keep presuming that Wilfork will be back playing for us. I'm not sure why. Someone else could give up 2 firsts. he could hold out throughout the offseason and make a trade likely.

Two low firsts for what kind of top NT?

Like, would I trade two low firsts (and by low, I assume you mean near the bottom of the round) for a Vince Wilfork clone?

Absolutely. Then re-sign Wilfork. We would have the best d-line in football!

No.

Because no one would give us two firsts, so I'm not going to mess with the mojo and even consider this.

If you said one first, then it would be more plausible, but in that case, no I would not trade Wilfork for a low first. Trading Richard for a high first is a different story for two reasons. One, it's a high first. Two, I didn't think Richard would be with the Patriots past this year.

If you could assure me that we'd have both these players on the team for the next four years, I would not trade either of them for a high first or a low first, because at the end of those 4 years, Tom Brady is 36.

Denver would be a great example of a team that might pull the trigger on such a move.

Definitely. This is the guy who gave up the 83 yard run that sank our season.

Take a 1st and pick Dan Williams of Tennessee. 6'3" 320 and he'd be as good as Wilfork after about 1/2 a season....or play more 4-3, which I think we should do anyway.

Wilfork wants top $, sorry Charlie.

Are you *****ting me? Wilfork was tied up on a double-team in that play. They trapped him and shut him down.

I think it's an invalid question as I don't think anyone would do it - but I would trade anyone on the team, other than Brady, for two #1s. I know our recent drafts have been inconsistent but the chance to get two #1s and save the money from a big contract is way to good for me to pass up. I'd take a #1 and #3 to be honest.

When was the last time someone forfeited 2 #1's to outright sign a franchise tagged player? I recall it's been a long time and it proved to be a disaster.

Patriots have an ace in the hole. Bianca won't let him sit once the checks start disappearing. Especially since there is a liklihood he gets nothing for his efforts even if he held out through week 9 because there won't be many FA signings entering a 2011 lockout. May not even be much guaranteed money available to FA this season over and above what he gets via tag in 2010 for the same reason. Will be interesting to see if they go exclusive tag so Vince can't even talk to potential suitors...And after the 2010 draft who is likely to have 2 firsts to part with or the capacity to create them...since there is no 2012 draft...

I think this is the closest in recent times :

"On April 22, 2008, the Chiefs traded Jared Allen to the Minnesota Vikings. In exchange, the Vikings sent the Chiefs a first-round pick, which they used to select OT Branden Albert, and two third-round picks and swapped sixth-round picks in the 2008 NFL Draft."

As much as we love Vince, though, I think every team would take the dynamic pass rusher over the two down run stopper.

Where was our all world ILB then? They can't tackle a guy in the hole?

Wilfork is supposed to fight through double teams and cause congestion in the hole...did he do that or was he just blown 5 yards back?

If you're telling me that our defense full of #1 picks give up 83 yards on the first play of the game, right up the gut, right past our #1s, and the key of teh whole thing, all world Wilfork,...well it wasn't his fault. Then we need a scheme change cause we suck. How many 83 yards did the colts give up with their defense of little minature players?
