Extremely interesting comparisons between the two teams over the past decade and now both falling down the ladder a bit.
Whats even more strange is that this season, the Spurs have failed to win a big game on the road....sound familiar?

Re: ARTICLE: The demise of the Patriots and the NBA's San Antonio Spurs twin dynastie
Look, if people really think this team is done and it's over, no more titles, why watch? do you want to keep crying or what? That was last week, I'm sick of this "dynasty over" talk. I've said it too many times, I'll say it here. The Patriots will never be an after thought with BB and #12 here, they will always, someway, be in the mix. That means every offseason, they're a few additions away from being great again. We saw an average Pats team that LIMPED to the AFC title game, come back the next year and while walking, annihilating opponents in their way.
I'm not expecting us to win it all every year but next year will probably be uncapped. That means this team has no excuse, with the age of Brady (soon to be 33) to go all out. They are a few additions away from being absolutely scary again. I refuse to say their runs are over until their nucleus walks away, I think you would be a fool to say otherwise.

I used to watch when we had no shot at a title and I'll more than likely continue to watch even if the Pats once again have no shot.

Lol, I didn't mean to come across like that. It's almost annoying, as if people are just in awe of the media's new Patriot slogan "the Death of a Dyasty" Every day now for the rest of the off season we'll hear this writer, now that writer's input on why they think the Patriots suck these days. It's almost like..If you're that miserable why watch football? I'm just going to enjoy the last few years we get of Brady, and whenever BB goes. I think wasting our time being doomsayers while BB and Brady are here is something we'll look back on when WE'RE hiring the likes of Chain Gailey and laugh at ourselves.

Several Patriots media personalities like Reiss have stated that its clear that the Patriots will NOT go nutso in the FA market,Not to mention that a good portion of the better players will not be available due to RFA under 6 year situations.
Reiss has said its more than likely the team is to dwell on keeping thier money players under long time contracts like Brady,Wilfork,Mankins,Gostkowski,Faulk ect: and Reiss has said that as long as these guys are locked up and the Pats go with a good amount of picks in the draft its a good offseason.
If you expect this team to pick up players like Kampman,Peppers and all kinds of 'FA goodies' out there you will probably be wrong.
I myself expect the team to look at FA as they always have by picking up some veteran players who may still have value such as a Jason Taylor or Deion Branch who will help but not cost a fortune to sign - I am hoping we do not go nuts and overboard for the senior citizen players again though.

Demise is a strong word. Both teams have legitimate shots at titles if they make a move or two.
Spurs added Jefferson in the offseason. Duncan is still a top 10 player in the league. Their depth is decent. They do need another big man and some D on the perimeter though. They always play well at the end of the year.
Pats certainly need to add some attitude and some impact players, but if they do they are again a SB contender.

The Pats have an attitude but just not a winning one.

The Spurs have just won 10 of thier last 12 so maybe the Pats can win 10 of 12 to start the 2010 campaign...we can only hope
