C'mon Man! Stop hating! You forgot one scenario that is highly likely. The Colts blowout the Jets in the Stadium, then beat the winner of the Saints/Vikes, (which will probably be the Saints) and get applauded for winning the Super Bowl, and beating the teams that beat the Patriots. (Ravens- post season, Saints, Jets- regular season) I like that scenario the best of all. It is not the Colts fault that the Patriots, Pittsburgh, and the Chargers did not show up this year in the post season. I think that the Colts are a longshot to win against the NFC anyway this year but if they pull it out they will deserve it.

Plus, they have to start planning financially to build their defense around Gholston.

2) Vikings lose to the Saints with Favre throwing a killer interception late...which Favre doesn't see because he has his "pants on the ground" after getting whacked. Favre cries a little in the post-game presser and starts the "return or retire" clock running. Reggie Bush (the only jerk-wad on the Saints) tears his achilles, ACL, MCL and larynx on the same play and is unable to participate in or talk about the Super Bowl.

3) The Colts lose to the Saints in a blowout and we all get to see the apex Manning face against a backdrop of fireworks and confetti.

So to sum up...The city of New Orleans gets a needed boost, Goober gets a gut punch, Favre teases another city but inevitably tears out their heart yet again, and the Jets set themselves up for a biblical letdown in 2010. Sounds about right to me.
That's be a pretty acceptable way of it all unfolding. But I'm not sure I want to see the Colts put a second AFC championship onto their resume. While, as fans, losing a Super Bowl is unbearable and heart-breaking, winning your conference is still a huge achievement.

Given the vengeful pleasure I sometimes allow myself, seeing the losing team practically shoved off the field, it would be so sweet combined with a Manning Face that I think my head might explode into footballs and candy

The only silver lining I see would be the Jets absolutely waxing the dolt's in their own house, after only making the playoffs because polian & Co. couldn't deal with the 19-0 attempt. That being said, with the way this post-season has gone as far as what I would like to see... Colts manhandle the Green Gluttons and play the Vikes in the Superbowl. That would be worst case scenario as far as I'm concerned, so that is what I expect from this post-season.

Not true at all

# The first four years are worth a total of $16 million.
# The deal voids after four years if Revis hits 35% playing time in the first year or 45% in any of the next three years.
# If it voids, the Jets have the option of buying back the fifth and sixth years. The fifth year would cost $5 million. The sixth year would cost $9 million or $11 million or $13 million or $15 million, depending on a complicated points system.
# If it voids after the fourth year, the Jets can’t use the franchise or transition tag on him. The only way they could prevent him from becoming a free agent is to exercise the buy backs.

I'm sure Mr. Revis would come back and play for $5mio. That is exactly how it would turn out. No chance he just doesnt come to camp without a new, shiny fat contract? Sits for a bit a la Mr. Branch. I think there is a great chance that happens....whatever the case, Mr. Revis is going to get paid and the Jets are going to have to make that happen.
