Your point is way too nuanced. Find another board.

Let's not kid around. This story plant is about Dean Pees. I'm supposed to buy into this "Belichick wasn't questioned enough by his staff" story? Pees was with the team since 2004 and now in 2010 we get this spin? Weak.

I would expect BB to say that his own coaching could have been better and that goes for the entire coaching staff also. Leave it at that. Thank Pees for his contribution and go about finding his replacement. Personal changes happen.
Wait a second. You don't think that's already implied? If someone says, I need to be challenged more, that's basically saying that his coaching could have been better. Come on people, this isn't that difficult.

Our next DC should be able to do the following things:

1- He knows what it takes to build a kick ars D.
2- He is really good at adjusting to our opponent's O.

Our next OC should have these qualifications as well.

It was a direct question about other coaches challenging him. No one asked that question until the end of this year. BB didn't call up WEEI and say "HEY tell everyone my coaches don't challenge me!"

His response very well could have been mainly about Dean Pees, but I'm not sure what's "weak" about this whole thing?

When did he ever single out Pees, aside from in your own mind?

Rappaport at the Herald is saying the same thing. Whoever Belichick wants is fine with me.

With Patricia, while we know you don't need to be a rocket scientist to be a DC, it will be interesting to see if it helps. It just shows that Belichick understands that the strategic thinking it takes to be a DC.

And even though it seems like Johnson could be a guy to inspire the D to play harder and better together, Patricia's track record with Mayo and Guyton isn't bad.

How about " Friend of Bill ", Pat Hill, the very successful head coach of Fresno State, or another could be, Kirk Ferentz from Iowa.

Don't be surprised if BB re-evaluates his whole scheme, including hiring from within, and brings in trusted guys from outside the organization.

In fact, I would be surprised if BB doesn't surprise everybody.

Patricia's job as LB coach tack record isn't bad as LB coach, so make him the DC and replace him with at LB coach with a top position coach and DC candidate?

What would be gained? Pepper will look elsewhere, having been passed over for the 2nd time, and we'd need a new DL coach.

No, he never said Pees, but really - he talks about not being challenged enough and then Pees and then Pats part ways. You don't think that discussion had anything to do with Pees?
