Light will be in the final year of a 6-year extension, at a cap number of $4,507,280. Since it was an exercised option year, there will be no cap hit if he is released.

Re: Yay or Nay: Shawn Springs, Fred Taylor, Matt Light
Keep them all. Light gets a bad rap but I still prefer him and Vollmer to Vollmer and Kaczur at T. Taylor can still ball when we don't abandon the run and Springs will be important if Bodden isn't kept around.
Re: Yay or Nay: Shawn Springs, Fred Taylor, Matt Light
Today we saw a team have enough game tape to isolate vollmer to take advantage of him.Once we came in lewis was crashing the B gaps and Johnson was made to loook at Suggs. Iam suprised people want him to now play and are comfortable that the game after he got his butt kicked to protect brady.
Light drove suggs 7-8 yards behind the line i have no clue why brady never stepped up and actually went back into to suggs.
Springs will keep him he played well repeat we need a pass rush .falco threw 10 passes and you think that is why we lost
Fred taylor no clue will keep him as we are used to OLD washed up injury prone RB.

Give Bodden any money that Springs would have otherwise made. He has to go and not because I don't like him, but because he didn't make the impact I wanted him to.

All should stay ... Springs took a while but he's a tough player I'd like to see stay.
Fred Taylor ... tough call ... not sure if he can block well anymore on pass plays. Maroney can't either so 2 guys who can't does not cut it.
Matt Light ... $4.5 million is a great number for his skill set ... he stays.
If there is a real good blocking TE in the draft then he'll be a great friend for Matt.
Re: Yay or Nay: Shawn Springs, Fred Taylor, Matt Light
Holly was saying for a while that Springs was one of the bad eggs in the locker room. No idea if it's true but if it is he's gone no matter what but if it's not true he was decent at the end.
Light won't be cut. They would trade him to KC or Atlanta. He still has value and they could kick him to guard.
Taylor is an incomplete because of his injuries but he's always been injury prone. Also AP and CJ couldn't run behind this line some (most) days.

There's only two conclusions for Patriots fans on rookies. They are either a bust or being fitted for their bust in Canton.

Re: Yay or Nay: Shawn Springs, Fred Taylor, Matt Light
Taylor's the only one of the three that I'd like to see back next year. Realistically, Light will be back to play out the last year of his contract, unless someone trades for him for some reason
Re: Yay or Nay: Shawn Springs, Fred Taylor, Matt Light
I think Taylor might retire. I think Springs will get cut if the Pats feel they can upgrade the position with another free agent. Light stays. He is relatively cheap and has been playing well no matter what his detractors say about him.
