Default Tom Brady - 2nd best season of his career (Statistically)

Minus the 2007 Season this has been Brady's most productive season since joining the NFL. Not bad for someone getting older.

Productivity, IMO, is measured by wins. At 11-5 (or 10-6), I would certainly NOT put this as his 2nd best season. He did, for the most part, have a very solid year though. Played a couple "meh" games, but overall, he was good.

Brady cannot win a game by himself, to measure the success of a QB by wins alone is extremely short-sighted. Brady's productivity has been the 2nd best of his career, and with the 2003 defense this team would probably also have 14+ wins. Productivity for a single player is most certainly not measured by team wins.

With the 2003 defense this team might be 16-0. I think people over-estimate how good the pre-moss/welker offenses were because the overall team was so much better.

And before I get comments from either side, not saying the D is that bad this year, just that 2003 was special.

I wouldn't say this was his second best season even if the stats say so. Stats in football are deceiving especially since Brady had monster numbers against the Titans. Brady had a very up and down season this year.

I would say he was better in 2004, 2005, and 2006 than he was this year despite what the numbers say. I would say that 2006 was an MVP type of year for Brady considering the talent around him.

Brady's struggles this year are for a number of reasons including rust, a new OC, injuries, etc. But despite the the overall numbers, Brady was inconsistent this season and made some uncharacteristically bad decisions at times.

I am just pointing out statistics can be misleading. Overall, I have been disapointed in Brady's play this season. Again, I am not putting all the blame on him, but he has done a lot of things uncharacteristic for him like making poor decisions and over relying on Welker and Moss without even looking at other players like Faulk and Watson.

I guess expectations should have been tempered because he was coming back from injuries and has missed a year, but I figured problems would be early in the season not later like the games vs. New Orleans and the second Miami game.

I agree that Brady hasn't been consistently at his best, but the main point to note is that the passing offense as a whole has produced better than any other year aside from 2007. Whether Brady has personally played at 80% of his 2004 self or whatever, the offense as a whole is better.

This offense in 2009 has played better than any other Brady-led offense aside from 2009. And don't forget we have played a lot of tough passing teams, which might skew your views on Brady a bit. Just check out the great Brady/Manning comparison thread with the details.

I just really care about the COMP % and the INT's both are very good and better or on par with previous seasons

I'm sorry; I just read in another thread on this board that Brady was on the downside of his career.

I'm glad that Brady's statistically doing well. But my eyes tell me that he's had a lot of off games and a lot of off throws to go along with the great games like yesterday.
