Or ... does he feel like because he's not playing a lot he's a bit timid in the locker room?

I listened to a couple of interviews(Sirius NFL and Mad Dog on Sirius) of Seau leading up to the last Jets game and in both of them he referred to the game as being an away game. That worried me.

He had his tv show to promote.

Don't think he's timid at all, but when he rants, you have to figure a cancer like AD isn't listening, you have to think this rubs off on the others, especially the younger players.

I've been on teams where the team camadarie was ruined by just one player.

Sometimes that's all it takes.

Meriweather has enormous influence on the defense. He's a loud kid and you can tell the DB's look up to him. He clearly has the most raw talent in the secondary, but if he doesn't have a serious, winning mentality then I don't want the defense to be built around him; we'd be better off trading him and cutting our losses.

Quote:
Hawkins says the losses of the offseason can't just happen without the locker room paying a toll for them. "You're gonna have a dropoff in mentality."

"They were all about winning," Hawkins said. "I can remember (Richard) Seymour jumping all over the rookies about jumping around and playing music loud. It was just a very professional place there."
But wait some guys on PatsFans told me Seymour was a lockerroom cancer.

Where is Seau? He's not playing. Shouldn't he be doing this leadership thing?

This is the same kind of horsesh&t that happened after the 2007 SB loss.....several of the guys took the loss hard like a true Patriot and real competitor would......many others were interviewed laughing and joking after the loss.......meanwhile I broke my cell phone, computer, went into deep depression for several weeks unable to watch or read anything to do with sports. We have some "cancers" on the team that need to be removed.....Need to get some leaders on this team........Burgess, AD should be distant memories right now.....that would send a message.....but you need to trade them off for something I guess....
