The #2 seed is sooo important, and we most likely will not have it now. We'd need both SD and CIN to falter down the stretch, and I don't see BOTH losing their edges down the stretch. On top of that, we'd have to run the table.

I think this actually undersells the importance of getting the 2 seed and the Pats chances of getting it.
On the Pats chances, they don't need SD and Cincy to "falter." The Pats do need to run the table, and if they beat Miami there's absolutely no reason they won't do so. Obviously when SD and Cincy play each other, one will lose. All the Pats need is for the winning team to lose a game. The odds are much better that happens than it doesn't.
On the importance of the #2 seed. The 2 seed has a much better than "50% chance" at the championship game. You've got 2 weeks to prepare for a home game against a team that has to play the week before--that game isn't a coin toss. It's HUGELY important to get it.
And for the record, I think the Pats will.
