While I do not want to be another person to nit pick and look for negatives after a nice win, I am starting to question Wilhite's ability.
It seemed to me that in the Colt's game, Manning found the weak link in our secondary... Wilhite.
Manning seemingly picked on him all night and regularly abused the kid. Then in the Jets game, it seemed as though to me that Wilhite was once again getting beat with somewhat regularity when Sanchez wasn't throwing int's to Bodden or getting hit.
Am I crazy here or is Wilhite reminding anyone else of a certain Eagle CB who is now on IR?

I share your concern. For the life of me, I can't figure out why Butler is not starting in his place. Butler has much more ability and far greater upside than Wilhite. Wilhite is a tough, gritty kid, but Butler is a 'baller' who can and will only get better the more he plays. I don't understand why Wilhite is starting ahead of Butler.

I would also like to see Butler start over Wilhite. I think Butler and Bodden are our best CB combo.
With that in mind, I don't see a problem with Wilhite. His coverage as been good. Both of the Manning to Wayne TD passes were perfect throws, with Wilhite having pretty good coverage. Hard to fault him just because one of the best combos in the NFL execute to perfection.

I wanted to echo what mayo said. While I think Butler has greater upside, what I've noticed with Wilhite is that he's usually in good position. That is, he's not getting absolutely torched like Duane Starks or Deltha O'Neal. It's strange because, to me, he always seems to have pretty tight coverage, but more recently Manning and yesterday Sanchez managed to complete some great passes into a very small window.
I'm not sure if it's a technique issue, or what. But that gives me confidence that he hasn't been "exposed" -- just more bad luck, if anything else.

Even Sanchez's TD to Cotchery over Wilhite was pretty much a perfect throw, where Wilhite had perfect coverage.
The way the NFL passing/defensive rules are built, no CB, no matter how good, is going to beat his WR every play. Wilhite is winning most of the time. Thats VERY good.

BB tends to be pretty cautious with rookies (Mayo excluded, but he was a top 10 pick). I think even as well as Butler is playing, it's smart to continue limiting his plays right now to avoid the rookie wall and let him learn a little more methodically (as opposed to just throwing him to the wolves).
Wilhite may not be as good, but he's probably better conditioned and more learned in the system. My guess is by seasons end and in the playoffs, if Butler continues to improve, he'll be starting over Wilhite all the time, and we'll be more balanced for the approach.

Early in the year we had a continuous 4 man rotation at CB which was actually a thread I posted a few weeks ago but it seems we have since done less with that,I liked the idea but it seems we are going to Wilhite more than mixing it up

Wilhite had a bad game against the Colts (but also had a pick which should have put the game away). Most of the times he's been burnt its been because of a perfectly thrown pass. Not saying he's a stud but he is much better than Hobbs and O'neal. At least he isn't trailing recievers by 5 yards every time there's a completion.
