I just missed a back that didn't fumble in the end zone in what would have been a game-sealing TD.

Wow! The defense had pretty decent game. The colts had an offense with ALL their running backs injured and they ONLY scored 35. They are playing with two rookie receivers who are getting better each week. I guess when their runners are healthy and their receivers are more experienced, we will have a pretty good game keeping them to 42 or 49.

The defense had a pretty decent game, all things considered. I was impressed. At one point I said to myself "I wonder what Colts fans are thinking right now: Who are all these new guys on the Pats defense and why are they holding us to so many punts and some picks?!"

Having Seymour wouldn't have made much of a difference. This defense is going to be really good over the next few years.

I think a lot of the fans who "miss" Seymour are just experiencing nostalgia. Seymour wasn't the same player in 2008 as he was in 2003. He wouldn't have been the answer for the Pats' pass rush this season.

The Colts offense gets the benefit of an extra player on the field at home games. . . .

The defense held them to 14 points through 3.25 quarters and even on the plays the Colts were making there was a Patriot defender all over them. There were a few exceptions that were mostly Dallas Clark but he was held down most of the night. Manning and Wayne just made some sick plays.

I still think the bend don't break philosophy is the issue against the Colts especially in the dome. 03, 06, and 09 the Patriots had huge leads and the defense was dominating as much as the offense for most of the game until it wasn't and then it was a field day.

This wasn't a Hobbs and O'Neal playing ten yards off deal. The DBs showed up and played really well.

There's only two conclusions for Patriots fans on rookies. They are either a bust or being fitted for their bust in Canton.
