That's why it wasn't a bad call. You need 2 yards from one of the best offenses in football, all but GUARANTEED to WIN THE GAME. Also: I don't buy this "no faith in the defense" argument. The defense had a chance to stop the Colts in those last 28 yards. If they had stopped them, we'd be praising both them and Pees.

Yeah, I'm sure BB was really thinking...."MWAHAHAHA those stupid bastards..." or something. About PM and the Colts. Please.

If anything, I think the move was more indicative of a lack of confidence...dare I say almost panic? Sorry BB. Just in this one isolated moment, I mean. So, you're human after all. Still love, ya. Still sleeping with my grey hoodie!

EDIT: And I feel the need to say this with every post regarding that play...IMO...HE HAD THE DOWN!!!

Maybe he was listening to Collingsworth last night exclaim that he would be 'stunned' if BB went for it.

I was all for the call but got depressed when Rodney mentioned immediately after the game ended that BB had no confidence in his D and that it was a sad message to be sent in the locker room.

there is not a person in the world that thought the defense could stop them from going 29 1/3 yards in 2 minutes.

no way. no doubt in my mind.

It smacked only of "this gives our team the best chance to win." No surprise that a potted plant like PK is just regurgitating the "disrepect" theme initiated by the Colts players.

i dont get this. is BB really thinking this or trying to make a call to win the game. Whether it was a right or wrong call i dont know about this crap about arrogance.
Listening to mike and mike on espn they took king to task about these lines which was refreshing..
I just don't see how people can fault Belichick here. He made a decision on what he thought gave his team the best chance to win the game. If it weren't for a terrible call, he would've been right, and we'd be praising how gutsy he is.

Manning would've gone from their 30 to our 30 in about 15 seconds. It would have come down to red area D anyway. If you think otherwise, you haven't watched enough Colts games.

The fact that a bozo like King has taken this position should give pause to those on this forum that bash BB for the call.

Of course, BB is not without blame. If his plan was to go for it all along, he should've called a run on 3 and 2. And yes, of course he has veto power over OC's playcalls in this situation.

That is the dumbest opinion you will ever hear on this.

It was a simple decision - he didn't think his D would stop the Colts no matter where they got the ball. I didn't either. Neither did anyone I know. Honestly, no one watching that game did.

In the NFL coaching circles, coaching in a way you know will result in losing because that is what everyone does is more respected than playing to win. It is crazy but it is true.
