Amazon.com: Football scouting methods (Ronald sports library): Steve Belichick: Books

Looks like you can get some used...Might be buying one myself..

I was disappointed in this book, very little insight into the Super Bowl winning teams. It was written as more of a warning to others to see a doctor if you experience stroke warning signs. His pre Patriot material was interesting but his Patriot memories were just fluff. Save your money, check it out at the library.

Education of a Coach, Patriot Reign, The Blueprint.

I'm going to have to re-read Pepper Johnson's book; I don't recall enough of it to comment on it.

Felger's book is right up there with Chris Price's in my opinion.

I thought the Bruschi book and the Charlie Weis book were a notch below.

I had never even attempted to find the Steve Belichick book because from what I had read it was long out of print and simply unavailable.

Peppers book was really good. It came out after the 2001 season and gave a lot of great insight to what the coaching staff was thinking. It would alternate with one chapter being about football fundamentals and the next chapter being about what was happening for the Patriots to prepare for that coming weeks opponents. Very insightful book. One interesting thing that I learned from it was that after Drew Bledsoe was cleared to play, he was 20 pounds under weight and the coaching staff felt he was too light to get back into games. This contributed to the decision to name Brady the starter for the rest of the year.

Education of a Coach is a must-read. Halberstam was one of the great writers of the century IMO.

Patriot Reign is not nearly as well written (almost nothing is) but it's a fun read.

I found Education of a Coach riveting, and you're correct about DH - brilliant. I also thought Patriot Reign was very good, but it isn't the same type of book. My fondness for Holley (not that I don't disagree with him from time-to-time) made Patriot Reign very enjoyable. Lots of inside stuff. Blueprint by Chris Price was very good, also.

The best one was the one from 1979. It was not well written and would be dreadfully boring to anyone who isn't a fan of the team, but it covers details of the beginnings of the AFL and the Patriots. The New England Patriots, Triumph & Tragedy. The author is Larry Fox, and the book was published in 1979 by Atheneum in New York.

Then Education of a Coach followed by Holley's book.
