Default Will the Jets Finish In Last Place

Sanchez is horrific, the D got manhandled in the running game 2 weeks in a row by teams with no QB. Jenkins may be out for the season. Are they headed for 5-11? Will Rex Ryan swallow his on face if that happens?

They already won their Super Bowl so everything else is just gravy (that Rex will consume).

There's only two conclusions for Patriots fans on rookies. They are either a bust or being fitted for their bust in Canton.

The Jets won't finish in last place. I still think the Bills will hold that honor. But they are in serious contention for third place.

I thought Ryan's approach to this year was horrible. He focused too much on the Patriots and the early season. He let his team trash talk too much. He focused on fun and enjoying football than discipline and focus. I think that is going to come back to bite him in the arse now that he is facing adversity. I don't think that team is mentally tough enough to deal with this type of adversity.

I still never got the media's love of Sanchez. He has been a deeply flawed QB all year, but until recently teams haven't capitalized on it. The guy rarely looks at other receivers than the one he is throwing to. He can get rattled under pressure. He lacks any real armstrength. He looks like the QB that should have spent another year in college. I think it is funny that all the Sanchez ball washers in the media are making excuses for him like he has hit the rookie wall (considering he turned the ball over 4 times against the Saints, he hit the rookie wall 4 weeks into the season).

That team also has some real depth issues. You listen to Felger and he has been gushing over how the Jets approach free agency and blasting the Pats about their approach. But with injuries to key players (Jenkins, Cotchery, and Woody) we see why the Jets' approach is bad - lack of depth. The Jets had no receivers other than Edwards catch a ball.

I never truly bought into the Jets being for real. I always thought that they might have been one of those teams that would peak at the beginning of the season. I think they will win more than 5 games, but not a whole heck of a lot more.

Not sure if they will finish ahead of Buffalo, but with Sanchez's confidence shaken, Kris Jenkins hurt if I were a Jets fan I'd be nervous...

Plus look at their schedule. OAK decides to show up and beat Philly so who knows about that one..But their last 3 in Dec are tough. 9-7 maybe?

I think they'll be fighting the Bills for that honour. The Bills might have accidentally improved their passing game with Edwards going out (again).

From the get go, I've thought the Fish were the scariest team in our division. They've got much smarter coaching than the Bills and Jets and have a terrifying running game. Also looks, at first blush anyhow, like they've tabled a very good QB.

They're a lot more than nervous already! A quick stroll through any Jets message board today and you'll see them crawling out of the woodwork and begging to bench Sanchez or fire coaches.

All that bravado and smack talk after week 2 and now.......chaos!

Good times, man, good times.

BOLD indicates games that the JETS have a good shot at winning. But assuming they win another game I haven't marked (Jacksonville maybe) they's need to win 'em all to have 9 wins. 8-8 or 7-9 most likely, assuming Sanchez doesn't go into a shell.

You are also assuming they defeat both of the teams that just beat them back to back.

Hard to say about Cinci. If they have something to play for in that game, it could be tight and if this team is going to steadily lose the war of attrition... I think the Jets might have to be happy with .500 football.

@ Buffalo with weather likely and his introduction to a crowned field...L

They have struggled historically in the black hole and the raiduh's will be flying high coming off ingesting a lot of Andy Reid brainfarts. L

Home games in the elements and an angry misled fanbase may wipe out the perception of home field altogether. They may be looking at 3 more wins this season, tops.
