Yes, thus my 8-8 and 7-9 best case scenarios assuming they turn around and beat those teams. The 2008 Pats beat the Phins after taking a vicious loss and the 2008 Pats lost one to the Jets .

They are 3-3 with 3 losses in a row. They needed OT to beat the Titans for one of their 3 wins. The 2 teams that just beat them had 3 combined wins before beating them.
.500 looks like the best possible hope you could realistically have.

...and the Bungles lost their best pass-rusher yesterday.

Cannot wait till 11/22!

What I posted about the AFCE for this season back in May:

3.) Dolphins
- Likely to take a step back because they weren't very good last year

4.) Bills
- Post concussion QB with a bad offensive line: we may all be playing Taps for Edwards' season early in the year
I think this still applies, although the Jenkins injury could have a major impact on the Jets season if he's out for any real length of time.

The jets have a schedule ripe for a mid season winning streak followed by and end of season losing streak to just miss the playoffs. Where have we seen that before?

Too bad, Jest. See you 11/22 in Foxboro.

I'm sure the Jets fans are laughing and celebrating the Kris Jenkins news. They think ACLs and season ending knee surgeries are funny...or at least those classless douchebags thought that last year.

I think 3rd place is pretty realistic for them now. Miami looked good in beating the jets, and is due for some wins. Buffalo is just terrible, and I don't see them getting anymore than 5 wins.

Something interesting to watch from Sanchez is his throws in cold weather games. They have 6 games left playing out doors in the northeast, and it will be interesting to see if he can throw in cold weather. I heard somewhere yesterday that this was basically his first cold weather football game...ever. Apparently the Jets forgot to take that into consideration.

It's very possible. Sanchez is putrid and is the QB we thought he would be. He's short, has problems holding onto the ball with one hand, is a warm weather QB, and doesn't have that powerful of an arm. On top of that, Jenkins looks to be lost for the year and he is the anchor of their defense. They were able to be run on before, now they are REALLY able to be run on. The only thing that would stop the Jets from finishing in last place is Buffalo being equally putrid.

Based on his health history, size and being on the wrong side of 30, I do wonder if this is the end of Jenkins' career as we know it....
