A win over the Titans Sunday coupled with a Chiefs loss at Washington will result in the Pats being tied with Kansas City for 4th place among the old AFL teams with total franchise victories at 381; they are currently two behind third place Miami. The Raiders currently have the most victories among those ten teams with 406.

The Patriots are 16th in NFL history with a .516 winning percentage, just ahead of the Steelers. Depending on how the season unfolds the Pats could possibly move past the .519 Ravens, .520 Redskins, .520 Chiefs, and .524 Jaguars by the end of the year.

With a winning season the Patriots will extend their current NFL-best streak of consecutive winning seasons to nine - the best by any team in the salary cap era. The Cowboys own the record for most consecutive winning seasons in NFL history with twenty from 1966 to 1985.


Head Coach
Bill Belichick passed Tony Dungy for 18th place in career regular season wins after the Falcon game. He needs two more wins to tie Marv Levy, five more to tie Mike Shanahan, and eight more to tie Bill Cowher in that category.

Belichick has already passed Levy and Shanahan this year in total (regular season plus playoff) wins by a head coach, and was already ahead of Dungy before the season started in this category. He needs four more to pass Steve Owen and six more to pass Bill Cowher, which would place him 14th all-time in NFL history.

Looking further ahead, Belichick needs one playoff win to tie Chuck Noll for fourth most in NFL history, two more to tie Joe Gibbs for third, and four more to tie Don Shula for second most playoff wins by a head coach. Tom Landry, with 20, tops this list - five ahead of Belichick's current total of fifteen.

Nice addition but Miami wasn't one of the original NFL teams, coming in later (1966 ?) The original AFL teams were Boston (NE...duh) Buffalo, NY Titans (Jets), Houston Oilers (tenn), Dallas Texans (Chiefs), Denver, Oakland and LA Chargers (SD).

NFL milestones for Tom Brady
Brady currently ranks 34th all-time in pass completions with 2428, one ahead of Y.A. Tittle, one behind Randall Cunningham, and five behind both Sonny Jurgensen and Kurt Warner. With 34 completions Brady can match #30 Jon Kitna's total, and with 37 Brady will equal #29 John Brodie's total. Looking further ahead Brady needs 240 completions to pass #22 Steve Young.

Brady currently ranks 45th all-time in passing yards with 27,790. With 200 yards Sunday Brady will pass Craig Morton, Ken Stabler and Terry Bradshaw; with 400 yards Brady will equal Ron Jaworski's career total. The NFL currently has 29 players who have thrown for 30,000 yards; Tom needs 2,210 yards to reach that milestone. There could be four quarterbacks that hit that mark this year: Kurt Warner, Donovan McNabb, Brady and Drew Brees.

Brady is tied with Jim Everett at 25th all-time with 203 touchdown passes thrown. Right now he is four behind Randall Cunningham, six behind Jim Hart, nine behind Terry Bradshaw and eleven behind John Brodie; he needs 29 to equal Steve Young, who is 20th with 232.


Team milestones for Tom Brady
As mentioned earlier, Brady needs 1867 yards to equal Drew Bledsoe's team record of 29,657 yards passing. Brady already owns the team career TD record (203), longest TD pass (91 yards), and wins as a quarterback (87). He needs 116 more completions to catch Bledsoe in that category, and 31 more games to to equal Steve Grogan's record for games played at QB. Brady needs one more yard rushing to tie John Tarver, twenty more to pass Reggie Dupard and Billy Lott for 34th place, and 44 more yards to pass Jon Vaughn for 33rd place in career rushing yardage for the Pats.

True Miami was not one of the original eight teams, but they were still "old" AFL (along with the Bengals) prior to the merger with the NFL. Considering the head start those other teams had, that does make the Dolphins win total that much more impressive in comparison, which is why I included them.

Rushing Attempts: Kevin Faulk needs three to become the 245th player with at least 800.

Rushing Yards: Faulk needs sixty to become the 240th player in NFL history with 3,300.

Rushing Touchdowns: Sammy Morris needs one more for a career total of 26, which would be 217th best in NFL history; three more will put him within the top 200.


Team rushing milestones for Pats' players
As mentioned by Patsfanin Philly, Kevin Faulk need just nine yards rushing to equal 6th-ranked John Stephens' total. He is also just 151 yards behind 5th-place Don Calhoun, and 23 rushing attempts behind Calhoun's 6th place total of 820 attempts. Faulk needs one rushing touchdown to equal Carl Garrett's total of 15 (11th), is three behind Stephens' total of 17 (10th), and four back of Mosi Tatupu's 18 rushing touchdowns, which is 9th in Pats history.

Laurence Maroney currently ranks 18th in Pats history with 420 rushing attempts; that is nine behind Ron Burton and 25 behind Steve Grogan. With another 228 yards rushing Maroney would become the 17th player in Pats history to run for 2000 yards. Maroney is 18th all-time with twelve rushing touchdowns, one behind Andy Johnson and Leonard Russell.

Sammy Morris is 26th in team history with 271 rushing attempts; he is 16 behind Tom Brady, 19 behind Vagas Ferguson, and 20 behind Robert Edwards. He is currently tied with Craig James for 19th place with 11 rushing touchdown, one in back of Maroney. Morris currently has 1220 yards rushing as a Pat; with 78 more yards he will pass Bob Perryman and tie Mack Herron for 20th all-time in club history in rushing yardage.

With 25 yards rushing Benjarvus Green-Ellis can become the 54th player in Pats history to rush for 300 yards, passing Sam Gash and Matt Cassel to reach that mark. With 200 rushing yards BJGE will move in to 41st place all-time, passing Doug Flutie, LaMont Jordan and Tony Eason among others.

Randy Moss currently ranks 12th all-time with 873 receptions. He is ten behind Keenan McCardell, 18 behind Torry Holt, and needs 27 to become the tenth player with 900 career receptions.

Moss has 13,568 yards receiving in his career, 9th best all-time. He needs 210 yards to pass Henry Ellard, 332 to pass former teammate Cris Carter, and 436 to catch James Lofton. Moss ranks third all-time with 136 touchdown catches; he needs four more to catch Terrell Owens.

Joey Galloway needs eleven receptions to become the 30th player in NFL history with 700. Galloway ranks 24th in receiving yards with 10,777 - one spot ahead of Stanley Morgan. He needs 80 more yards to pass Gary Clark and move into 23rd place.

Kevin Faulk needs five receptions to reach 400 in his career, which would rank him 180th all-time.

Moss needs 132 yards to become the 15th Patriot to reach 3000 yards receiving. He is 187 yards behind Randy Vataha for 14th place and 213 yards in back of Shawn Jefferson for 13th place in Pats history. Randy is currently 6th in Pats history with 35 touchdown receptions. He is three behind Irving Fryar, four behind Jim Colclough, and seven behind Gino Cappelletti.

Welker needs twelve receptions to move into 9th place with Tony Collins in Pats history with 261. Right now he is 34 behind 8th place Jim Colclough and 43 in back of 7th place Gino Cappellitti. Wes needs 136 yards to move in to 17th place in yardage with Cedric Jones at 2703.

Watson needs two more touchdown catches to become the 20th Patriot with twenty touchdown receptions. That would put him in 12th place all-time with Art Graham, two behind Terry Glenn and three behind Randy Vataha.

Kevin Faulk's next touchdown reception will give him a career total of 15, which would tie him for 19th in Pats history with Don Hasselbeck. Welker's next touchdown catch will give him 13 as a Patriot, 26th best in team history and tied with Ron Sellers and Christian Fauria's totals.


NFL total yards from scrimmage milestones
Randy Moss is currently ranked 27th with 13,727 yards. He needs 100 yards to match Henry Ellard, 123 yards to catch up to Fred Taylor, and 213 yards to equal Cris Carter's total.

Kevin Faulk is 248th with 6,642 yards; 58 more yards will move him past Rudi Johnson, Michael Haynes and Cris Collinsworth; 138 total yards would give him 6,800 total and move him in to 235th place with Dwight Clark.


Team punt return milestones
Kevin Faulk's next punt return will be the 100th of his career, making him the fifth Patriot to reach that mark. He needs 68 more punt return yards to become the fifth Pat to have 1000 yards in that category.
