As someone who has followed and covered UMaine football, Jack Cosgrove has nothing but good things to say about McGowan. He was very excited the Pats signed him in the off-season, and told me he thought he would be contributing alot more than people thought. He was right.

McGowan won the "Hammer Award" for being the best special teams player in 2001.

I think we should start calling him "The Hammer" ... it's a very

name.
