See, a rarity in football forums I said. Thank you for proving my point. Anyway Sanagle is 3-1, I'll take it...

Look...the Pat's throw a lot and that puts a lot of pressure on Light to defend Brady's blind side....and he usually does a good job of it. Yes....everybody saw him get blown by on the Raven sack/strip/TD, and that stuff always sticks out. But Light did a pretty solid job the rest of the game and he does a solid job most of time. He isn't an Orlando Pace in his prime...few are. Light is far better than the minimal credit he gets around here sometimes...and yes...I was screaming at him from my recliner on Sunday on the mentioned play....but....I also appreciate/defend his play as being pretty damn good. I'm glad the Pats have him.
Would I trade him for Ferguson....no freaking way. That is definitely not a trade up for the Pats. The Jesters overpaid for what they got there. I'm sorry to any Jester fans or Pat's haters....but I like our OL pretty darn just like it is. I would just like to see the coaches let them run block a bit more....kinda like against the Ravens all the time.
I'm not a Matt Light hater. He's been an above average LT for us for close to a decade. That's pretty decent. But don't kid yourself, that's what he's been, an above average LT. He's had some great games, and he's had some bad games.
At this point he's almost 32 and slipping. How fast he's slipping is not entirely clear, but I'd have to say he's now an average LT at best. Already this season he has allowed one of the opposition's best players to make a potentially game changing play - the Schobel INT for a TD, and the Suggs sack/fumble/TD. We're very lucky to have won both games, and those 2 plays could easily have been the difference between 3-1 and 1-3.
Ferguson's still 25 and is getting better. He has much more upside than Light at this point, and he will probably be better at his peak. I don't consider that he'll ever be in the Ryan Clady/Michael Roos/Jordan Gross/Joe Thomas class, but as I said, I'll take him over Light.
No disrespect to Light, who has been a solid contributor. But I think it's important to be honest about your own personnel, and not fall into the hyperbole trap.

Pass rush? Uneccessary when you have 72 CBS playing.
Lbs? What for, we have no pass rush, they gonna chuck it at our lousy CBS...all 72 of them bums

Jets Insider is pathetic. Gang Green is better, although they are like JI in that the homer aspect is just out of hand.
Orange Mane may be the worst 'major' board in the NFL, though. You have to have an account just to read the threads, nevermind posting.

Yeah I'm on gang green, never been on Jets Insider. Every board has a ton of homers though, drives me crazy, even the Jet ones. I've been on finheaven alot this week cause we're playing the dolphins, no different, they r awesome every player at every position is better than what the jets have etc. I can understand being a fan and being loyal, but admitting another team or player is good is rational and not being disloyal to ur team, alright I'm done venting...

I find that homer aspect is out of hand at every team's fan forum.
What I like about JI is that in past years when the teams would start well and then ultimately suck, the rantings and suicide postings used to make me .

This board has a lot of non 'homer' posters that aren't just bandwagon fans ready to jump ship at a moment's notice, which is actually something to be proud of, given how good this team has been this decade. ChiefsPlanet is filled with them. I've looked at a few others that had a fairly blended makeup.

It's about being realistic Deus. Look at what you have, look at what others have and then be thankful for that.
Blind faith never gets you anywhere, but knowing you've got a steady administration and coaching set up, as well as a reasonably sound team most years makes it easy to enjoy the success, as in sports, everyone knows that the landscape can change against you as easily as it did for you.
