I rather suspect that Suggs wasn't literally going for the knees, but rather intending to intimidate Brady and get in his head with memories of last year's hit. Scummy play either way. And clearly intentional.

I don't know. Is there a one inch band where you're allowed to hit the QB now? I suppose that was the Brady rule, but Wilforks tackle was bs and There was a penalty because somebody touched Brady's helmet.

They might as well just give QBs a flag to put in their pocket.

Every replay I've seen it seems like Suggs had full intention of going into his knees, even changing directions in order to do so. I agree he should be fined

I'm actually not sure what to think about it. From the left side view, it looks as if he is clearly leaping for his knees after Brady threw the ball. HOWEVER, from the right side view, it appears as if he stumbles and falls into Brady, puts his arm out to break his fall and rolls to the left (away from Brady). I really don't know what to make of it.

Edit: on further review, maybe the left-side view does show him "stumble" but put his arm out towards Brady while falling in his direction, instead of forward or to the left. I don't know. I'm just glad Brady didn't get hurt.

This is the year. We put our failures in the past, it's a new year, a new defense. It's time to prove to the league that the Patriots are back and aren't going anywhere and they will be the last ones standing in Feb.
Update: Well that didn't work out as I had planned. Next year baby, next year 19-0 we go. Next year.

The helmet one was stupid - but I did think the fact he dove at his legs it deserved to be called. If he had gotten there just as the ball was released - then there's always the case that it's football and that they should let them play. But the ball was already gone, and he was just standing there watching it when Suggs dove at him - which as I wrote was probably the only reason why Brady was able to get out of the way.

LOL, suggs would have loved to hurt brady, and yea, its pretty evident it was intentional, and his hit was PERFECTLY placed....

he wanted to hurt a player where he before had a season ending injury....really scum move, and i would like to see him get suspended for 2-4 games b/c of it

not b/c its brady, but b/c of the situation alltogether

After watching it a few times I agree that he was going for the legs. He wasn't blocked into Brady or on the ground. He is flat out just going low.. looks pretty intentional. Don't know if the contact (or lack thereof) is what any sort of fine would be determined from. I'm just glad Brady was able turn and make it a glancing blow.

Like you said it was blatantly obvious Suggs was trying to hurt Brady, it was like something out of the movie "The Longest Yard" and i mean the old longest yard. I don't ever recall someone going after a QB like that, the ball was long gone. I hope he gets hit for a larger chunk of change.
