Default The Kaczur injury and how this could force a roster move

UNder the radar it seems Nic has an ankle injury and did not practice. This could force a move, even if he is not out and inactive. If he is out, Vollmer will be starting and they will need a backup...as they have only 3 tackles. If he is still starting and 80%, it might still be that one is brought in. He could start, but would teh team wish to have only Vollmer and Light at 100%? Another injury and then it's a question mark as to who will play tackle. If he is looking better, they might gamble, but unless they know Simmons or Ohrenberger could fill in, I supect they will make a move. They don't have Brown on the PSquad, so if he does not improve, a move might be needed. Maybe he's not 100% but could play if needed...do they start him or Vollmer? It's a bit tricky when one is injured and 2 are heathly and there is no 4th player to back up.

Just a hunch, but I think Kaczur is just resting an ankle sprain. I'd expect him to play since he finished out the game on Sunday.

I am hoping that is the case as well..but looking more to a downside if that is not true and what that will mean. He did finish the game, so obviously it was not that bad, but, if it is a move will be needed.

Well, we're technically three games away from being able to re-activate LeVoir. Maybe they keep things rolling with anti-inflammatories and scotch tape until then.

Personally, I have always preferred four OT's. However, I suspect that Kaczur is OK to be at least the backup. If he isn't, then a roster move is indeed in order. However, I suspect that Simmons will be activated if Kaczur is not.

I am hoping JSN is right but even if he is not I don't see a move being the way to go unless it is more long term as if it were for this week I would guess it would have been done already so he could be practicing. More likely the flexibility comes from with in. Simmons would be a canidate as I believe he has played some tackle before.

One would have to believe that their back up plan at tackle consisted of more than just a Rookie and someone who wont be available until week 7.

I wonder why they cut Wesley Britt, he was good.

They kept a bunch of tiny OL guard types instead.

How is Levoir better than Britt?

I'd agree with that.

I'm anticipating Levoir is activated from PUP at some point, given the extension they gave him, it makes sense he is very much in their plans.

Have O'Cal or Britt been signed[by another team]?

EDIT: O'C went to the Chiefs...Britt seems to be a FA right now, we could pick him up for depth if need be.

I would think that if the Pats felt there was a good chance Kaczur can't go Sunday then they will sign somebody by the end of the day today. Britt would make the most sense if that is the case since he is already familiar with the Pats offense and as far as I know not on an NFL roster right now. My first thought was Simmons, but does he play any tackle or is he strictly a guard? The other person I was thinking of was Ryan O'Callaghan but as I recall he was picked up by somebody - I think maybe the Chiefs.

If we sign someone today, do you think he would be ready for Sunday...
