This is not going to be a pretty week. If they win it will have to be ugly. Ngata is going to be a handfull everything they do starts with him. There's a reason Kelly Gregg makes as many plays as he does. That reason is Ngata. We will get a good chance to see if this staff learned anything from the Jets game. Balt. would be foolish to ditch that plan.

Rivers torched them but still lost (actually their D lost the game for them, being depleted). However, I think BB will still be picking some things up from that game. One thing I think he will key on is in man coverage, their corners are easily exposed.
Question is, do we go no-huddle like we did in '07 to prevent them from going dime and quarter?
Only problem with that now is their base D is the most effective, not their nickel and extra DB packages (3.6 YPPA vs. 4.3 YPPA)
Ironically they are also playing a bit of vanilla D, going consistent with four men rush.
only reason sd lost to baltimore was the red zone offense of sd's sucks right now
if you guys are good in the red zone (better than sd) you'll be fine
the key is when will the pats develop a good strategy to deal wth constant pressure from an opposing defense
Ryan probably thought the quarters were 9, rather than 15 minutes. He just didn't have the ball much, especially in the second half. When the Pats D shortens the game like that, the opposing offense becomes more 1-dimensional. Flacco is good, but he's no Brady or Manning. And especially with his sub-par receiving corps, he can't beat us with the game in his hands. We win 27-20.

Glad to hear someone else lauding Ngata. I think he's the best player on their defense - certainly the one I would build my D around if I had my choice.
Your statement about the Jets game is right on. Baltimore has Atlanta's balanced offense and the Jet's defense. If we don't execute better and show more variety on offense (not to mention doing a better job of handling the pass rush) then we deserve to lose. We should expect all opposing teams to bring the pressure until we prove we can solve it. Baltimore is one of the few teams capable of doing that effectively.
I think we win this game, but we'd better show more of the offensive creativity and balance that we displayed today than what we showed last week against the Jets. And a healthy Welker would definitely help.

i dont see baltimore as that much of a challenge...
their defense for any sake is very similar to the jets, except Balt corners are weaker, and safeties stronger, and for jets are vice verca
and i dont c as pathetic of a performance as against the jets by our recievers, our o line, our rb's, our coaches, or our QB....
and a better red zone offense....well put up high 20's
now their offense....similar to jets, except rb's not as quick, and wr's better, TE not as good, O-line not as good
guyton would aslo not be thrown into a game and position midway through a game....i say they dont get more than 20....their strenghts play right into ours (slower, more powerful backs)
and its at home, and its first time flacco sees a BB defense (with a 3-9 track record, or something like it)
