Re: Matt Light and a few thoughts on tonight's performance
I am not going to bash Light because year in and year out he struggles against the same three people(schoebel, jason taylor, and dwight freeney) just get used to it. I doubt C bass unseats Light because Brady trusts Light and besides those evil three i mentioned Matt is a good pass blocker. For the past 3 years i have thought Light was not a good run blocker and i couldn't help but notice that C bass stoned his man on the one play i saw him and i cant remember Light being that physical in a long time. With all the love for C bass i wonder how Levoir will fit into this.
Back to the game. Maroney had some good runs but i dont understand why he Always tries the left side. And why is Galloway on this team. He didn't get much separation and Brady decided to just not even look his way after a while. I don't wanna hear that he was doubled crap because so was moss. Maybe Brandon Tate will replace Galloway in week 6 if he doesn't pick it up.

Last year "analysts" were telling us Manning was not in synch because he missed training camp. Why is everyone shocked that the offense would be out of synch with Brady coming off of major knee surgery and missing a year?
That's why the talk of blowing Buffalo out was nonsense. It's stupid to think a QB can come in after that and just pick up where he left off. Also, quite a bit of the pressure and hits came at the 5-7 second point in the play. Therefore, much of the "pressure" was the result of a rusty QB getting back into the game as "turnstile" O-lines.
How many times did he get hit in the second half?
It will probably take 4 games for TB to be back to full form.
Like BB say :
Our team needs improvement in Defense and Offense. They will deal with the mistakes , the team is on learning phase in both sides, Defense ,offense.
I don't care what the announcer's said about us last night! We're awesome and we now have momentum and hope on our side after winning this game! I think we definitely we have what it takes to beat those pesky Dolphins this year guys!
1) The offense should be fine after looking aweful for a half.
2) We now know who are #3 and #4 receivers are: Watson and Faulk.
3) I think our OL and running game will be fine.
4) We've found our returners: Maroney, Faulk and Welker (was there any doubt).
5) Our front seven played our best players against a rookie line and weak gimicky offense, and absent a bonehead gift may have lost the game, but perhaps we need to learn to believe that if the defense gives up less than 20, it is all on the offense. That approach can get us to the playoffs but not a Super Bowl win.
6) The offense just didn't score enough when they had the chance and the handed over a pick six.
BOTTOM LINE
A win without a major injury (it seems that Mayo is OK) is a great thing.
A nohuddle does no constiture a gimmicky offense it constitutes an offense that adds a gimmick. Big difference. Your description suggests the plays they run are gimmick. Really to defend a no huddle or a huddle offense is the same thing, except you get less rest.
The D allowed 1 drive in the first half, and 111 yards.
It allowed 1 TD in the second half, albeit at a critical time.
7 of those 24 were allowed by the offense.
I know you hate our defense, but if you want to have your opinion listened to be fair. If you need to exaggerated, then your viewpoint is perceived as flawed.
Aside from the D scaring the crap out of me, the poor play of the O-line is making the Pats offense take forever to score. Light was getting owned by whoever the Bills lined up on his side. However, he did pull it together late into the game. Light better get it together because Vollmer played well in limited duty.
On the other hand, my dream scenario for every single season other than 2007 has been to put Matt Light at right tackle were he would be a stud, and to put a stud at left tackle.

I agree. All things considered, the D did a creditable job, especially losing their signal-caller halfway through the first quarter.
I understand there is more that goes on with these things than we all understand, but unfortunately this is a common occurance on gamedays. That's why I have been patient with it and not said anything until now. But it happens every game and I look at other team's boards like JetsInsider and Finheaven and they don't have the same problems.
I wil support this site and I understand Ian works really hard to maintain this site, but he really needs to figure out a way to keep this site up and running on gamedays.
Rob - What is Ian supposed to do about DOS attacks that spam the board? Did you ever stop to think that there is someone out there who is making it a point to attack the Pats board during games because they hate us?? I have..
That being said, I would think that the company doing the servicing on his server would be able to do something about it..
I just rewatched the fourth quarter, and I was a bit bummed by what I saw. Basically, the team adjusted to the fact that that the OL was a turnstile. Much quicker plays, and Brayd unloaded within a second each drop. Coupled with the prevent defense, and it worked. Still, guys were coming through almost unabated. If you get a chance to see a replay, see if you agree that it wasn't a whole lot better than the first 3 quarters, except that the patriots adjusted.
Lesson learned after the Giants game

For those of you panicking about last night, it's only game 1 of a long season. it's better we struggle early on, work out the kinks and play our best football for the end of the year. in 2007', we were blowing teams out early on but things changed. in 07' the giants gave up 70 points in their first 3 games. even the steelers struggled to score points. buffalo is becoming a better team each year and it's nothing to be ashamed of not beating them by 20 points.
the defense needs to gel. overall, i was pretty happy with the D considering it was just game 1. also, brady was rusty early on but that offense will start to click in no time.
i think our run D was solid - giving up 90 yards to the bills. our pass D gave up 215 yards, so that needs some work. if mayo had played the whole game, it may have been different.
All that matters early on is accumulating wins - pretty or not. if we play like this in after 10 games or so then we have some reason to worry. now it's onto mike sanchez and the jets. the jets fans already smell blood in the water and think they will win the division and that's after they beat a really bad houston team.

"He’s the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. He goes from being a rookie that nobody is expecting anything from, to taking over with people saying he can’t do it, to winning three Super Bowls....It should already be obvious he’s the greatest quarterback to ever have played. "
