Hold on. Let me get on the phone with BB...

Actually, to be serious, I hope he's okay. Mankins is a HUGE part of our offensive line. I would call him the heart had I not seen what happened last season when Stephen Neal was out.

I live in San Diego. I dont hear all the trainning camp stuff. I agree Mankins is the heart of that offensive line.

I preface this by saying you can't read into body language but I think Mankins cart off could be precationary/minor (relative to a need for the cart). He was on the ground getting looked at. looked like his knee. they brought the cart over but he didn't need to be lifted into it, he was helped up and walked to the cart a few feet or so on his own. He didn't look depressed and acknowledged the crowd when they cheered him. I didn't see what happened but oddly enough it seemed he hurt himself on the lap. Maybe someone else so what actually happened.

Ohrenberger got carted off too but he definitely looked heat related. Now that I think about if they were looking at a cramp and not his knee maybe that is the case but this might even be more optimistic than my above paragraph.

I was there as well....def. not heat exhaustion as first one trainer was looking at him, then about 3 came over. I saw the looking at his left knee and then one summoned for the cart - UGH, hate that damn cart.

The injury did not happen during a drill or lie play or anything.......it actually may have happened during an offensive lap as it was in the corner of the far end zone where no drills or plays were happening.

Hard to say if serious or a precautionary cart off - I am hoping it was a tweak and they were being very careful. SBB is right in that his reaction made it appear as if it was not too bad, but who knows.

Right now, we have heard from some players that it was heat-related. Ohrnberger went down late in practice as well. It was really hot out there today -- bad day to be a big guy. Doesn't sound like it was serious -- some players were joking about it after practice.

It Is What It Is Notes from Sunday PM practice

The OP scared me enough to do a twitter search. Everyone says it's dehydration for whatever that's worth. And then I found the following post:

Cerullo91 logan mankins and ross hochstein just bought beer off me in countryfest

I hope Bill doesn't find that, because you know what can cause dehydration...

Actually, a group of Spanish doctors have recently published an article that show that 1-2 pints of lager is a better rehydration then anything else.
