Re: Adalius Thomas ...His first two years as a Patriot
That's a very good question and I honestly don't know how to answer it, not because AT hasn't played very well when healthy, but because of how high the expectations were. If I have to decide, I guess I'd say that a healthy Thomas has been what I hoped he would be.

I think for what they are paying him, the expectation has to have been higher. When I say expectation, his annual sack total being in the 8-10 range, maybe forcing a couple of fumbles and recording a interception or two every year.
IMO hes certainly been above average, but not the gamebreaking OLB that I was expecting.

agreed.........I think he has played well, but should have done more for the money.....that said, the signing was far from a mistake

that is because a lot of the time he has been ILB.

funny how that works.
Prior to the Colvin injury in 07, he was 50/50 ILB/OLB before the Colvin injury and went to 25/75 afterwards w/ Seau getting a ton more snaps at ILB. Last year he was 80% OLB. If you are saying that by playing ILB would cut into his sack totals, then why aren't his tackle totals higher? To counter my own arguement, I think he was double-teamed more often than not which allowed Vrabel to notch 12 sacks in 07.
Typically, players dont put up big sack totals in this D, but the perception is that he should be providing more impact/game changing plays (forcing fumbles, etc). Don't know if it's fair or not.
With his 3rd year in the D, I expect big things from AD this year.
