Actually, Guyton technically "took over" last year. It's looking like he's going to be the starter this year while Bruschi comes in to give him a breather.

He was a dominant running back, although, on a lousy Bengal team. That might keep him out. His first year here was exceptional. He carried the Pats against the Colts in the playoffs......
IMHO, he deserves serious consideration for the HOF.

A sarcastic Bill Belichick on Tom Brady's finger injury, "It's not life threatening."
Re: Only Brady is Canton bound from all Patriots SB teams?
Moss is a lock already, so if he wins a couple with us.....

"Some guys play in all-star games, some guys don't. I don't know who picks all those all-star teams. In all honesty, I don't know who picks the combine, for that matter," Belichick said. "How does (Miami-Ohio offensive lineman Brandon) Brooks not get invited to the combine? How did Vollmer not get invited to the combine? I don't know. We can't really worry about that. We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."
Re: Only Brady is Canton bound from all Patriots SB teams?
Brady, Vinatieri, and Belichick go in as Pats.
Moss goes in as a Pat/Viking.
Seau goes in as a Charger.
Seymour has a good chance; Harrison is borderline.
Bruschi, Law, Dillon, McGinest, and Taylor are doubtful. At some point voters will end up saying "okay, that's enough players from those Patriot teams"; remember the backlash to all the Steelers that got in to the HoF from the 70's?
Depending on what happens in future years Kraft may have a chance too.

NO WAY David Patten makes the Hall.
In other news : I think Adam V. gets in. The timing will be right, and I think the people responsible are just waiting for the right kicker to maybe open doors for a few others.
I think Seymour gets in. Sure, in this forum, debates rage. But for those who don't follow every game, they'll see the All-Star appearances, the SBs...
BB is, in my opinion, the only non-Brady no-brainer. He is everything a HoFer should be. Creative, game-changing, ahead of his time, team before publicity... He can probably name 99% (if not all) of those already enshrined.
It'll be interesting to see how it plays out... let's enjoy the ride while it lasts.
Edit : obv. Moss is in... but he's not part of a NE SB (yet...).

That sounds about right, but Kraft is a lock and Law and Dillon are borderline... I think Willie needs to buy his ticket. Tedy was hurt by the stroke because he was just starting to get his props. And the injuries in 2005 hurt Rodney and Ty - stronger finishes to their careers and it would be a lot harder to deny those two. I think they may make it eventually.

i believe jerod mayo will one day be in the HOF but that's a long ways away.

"He’s the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. He goes from being a rookie that nobody is expecting anything from, to taking over with people saying he can’t do it, to winning three Super Bowls....It should already be obvious he’s the greatest quarterback to ever have played. "

Beli and TFB are locks. Sey.... mmm, possible. Law..... doudtful.
Dillon probably will get some real consideration, even playing for the lowly Bungels all those years. Lets not forget, he did have more then a few standout moments in Cinci. Set the Rookie Single game rushing record in 97, and then later the Single game rushing record. He also ran for over 1000 in 7/10 seasons. 4 Pro Bowls. He also got his ring.
Stats wise, his 10 yr states are comparable to people like Riggins, Little and Ollie Matson...... and they all got in.
He might not, but he's surely get some consideration. The thing likely to hold him back most is not his career, but the fact that the media hated, him.

Re: Only Brady is Canton bound from all Patriots SB teams?
First Ballet:
Brady
Belichick
Players that will make it:
Seymour
McGinest (All time playoff sack leader)
Viniateri
Law
Rodney Harrison
On the bubble:
Light
I did not include players that will be inducted as a player from another team, like Seau will always be remembered as a Charger, Dillon will always be a Bengal (but will not make the HoF).
