Well, I don't watch these talking heads much because most are idiots. How would i know what he said years ago? Just commenting on his delivery, not the content of what he said.

I especially tuned out to that spygate thing, since it was a load of crap. Sorry, I don't intentionally torture myself listening to sensationalized BS, life's too short.

Some people here really need to compartmentalize and react to what the poster said, not some grievance i might not even know about. Since you mentioned it, I guess there was some quote in the back of my mind, but I was reacting to the delivery of some ex-player in a clip i just watched. Period.

He played in Buffalo and was part of the Jaguars team that got their butts handed to them by the Patriots in 2005 so it was his bitterness and jealousy shining through in the segment.

To me I think he may even have been overly doing it to defend possible infractions by his own teams during his playing time...

Wiley's a d-bag, but he's a very intelligent d-bag. Columbia isn't exactly a football factory...

Like i said, something clicked in with the name after a while. Still, he could have been Adolph Hitler for all I knew. All I was saying was the talking head on the video was articulate.

It's a shame that should stand out, but there are a lot of dumbasses on sports TV.

By the way, I seriously don't watch a second of these pregame shows because they are so sensational and celebrity driven and do anything but talk about actual football involving linemen, linebackers etc.

It's all about a-hole receivers like T.O. shooting their mouths off, so I'd rather watch news or play on the computer.

The only exception I can think of is Boomer Esiason. Besides the glorifying of only QBs and receivers and their personal lives, their are a few bland ones who spout cliches out of Bull Durham. Also, the BS happy talk, similar to bad morning talk show hosts that laugh like hyenas, but never say anything funny, grates on me.

Sheeit, they don't even bother studying the rosters to know who is on each team.

I used to listen to internet radio feeds for some games and the local radio announcers are so much better than the worst TV guy, it isn't funny. End of rant.

Yeah Dino just a little swipe at the boys in black and gold. I was referencing two incidents the low tackle on Brady's ankle in the 2001 Championship game(You remember that one right?) Cornerback blitz around the edge Lee Flowers goes low to avoid a block dives into Brady's ankle. Then Bledsoe comes in and tries to hand the ball to Joey Porter and he drops it.(Rings any bells?) Bledsoe throws touchdown Pats win Steelers lose at home(Yeah that one).
The other is Kimo Iwontevenattempttospellhisname in the AFC Championship where he falls down and kinda rolls up on Carlson Palmers knee. Now I don't think either of those plays was intentional. Getting back to the subject of the thread I think it is a good thing to encourage pass rushers not to just get low and knife through the line and dive at the quarterbacks feet. Taken to the extreme a team could purposefully send pass rushers to go low at a quarterbacks knees as a deliberate strategy. Even if they didn't hit the quarterback it would have a psychological impact.
Oh and by the way the Steelers defense is going to be terrifying this year as long as your D-line stays healthy.

Man, that was a long way around the block. You mean this guy? I've been beating him at chess all day, he sucks.

I agree, Boomer is worth the lot of them together.

TV people generally suck. It's the radio guys who have to sound intelligent, which is why Boomer does so well on WEEI. He's substantive.

I did, however, like the antics of Deion Sanders.

Before Satellite feeds I was listening to these radio guys at different non pats stations (no WBCN available).

Everyone knew all the players, the tendencies of each team, it was incredible. Made me feel as stupid as I should in the presence of guys that know their stuff and love their work.

Even the best on TV, sound like they brushed up on both teams for about 15 minutes before air time. It's mostly stupid features and happy talk anyway.

Truth be told, I turn the volume down on the broadcasts sometime for particularly horrible announcing teams.

Speaking of which, I almost like the execrable Randy Cross now, but it's self defense since the alternative is listening to the corpse of the late Don Cricqui.

I appreciate that Randy has realized we might like to know who some of those guys are in pre season, so he seems to make an effort.

My bad, I know but it's the time for new guys and they've been known to swap numbers faster that Pats.com can change the roster info.
