Default What's the best case scenario for Kevin O'Connell?

TFB says he wants to play for another decade or so. Conversely, I'm sure O'Connell's had a dream or two where #12 retires, and BB trusts the team to him right away. Conversely, while I'm sure we wouldn't mind if Brady played every snap for the O this year, it would also put the Patriots back in the situation of relying on a backup with little to no NFL game experience.

So, here's my question: in your opinion, what would be the best case scenario for all involved—the Patriots as a team, for #12, and for O'Connell?

I would imagine that his best case scenario would be either to settle in as a long term backup here (ala Damon Huard).........or show something to other teams (as in Cassel's "luck" in getting to show his stuff last year......that would provide him the chance to be a starter. For, as long as Brady is healthy................He WILL be starting here.......so Okee will either be our backup........or be on the trading block at some point...IMHO

I'm only going to look at this year and hope he does not play at all.
The exception of course would be if the Patriots blow a couple of teams out and he gets to play some clock killing garbage time.

Best case scenario would be for O'Connel to sit and watch Brady lead the pats to two more superbowls.

He doesn't play for ten years.

Best case scenario is he plays for one or two games and is lights out, creating a bidding war. Think Mark Brunell, Scott Mitchell, Matt Schaub, etc. Pats get high draft pick(s) and the cycle is repeated.

best case scenario for O'Connell is Brady goes down week 1 and he goes on to lead the team to a Superbowl victory, breaking Brady's TD record along the way.

Best case scenario is that he stays ahead of Gutz and Hoyer or he has no chance.

Three years as the #2 behind the best QB in the NFL and decent Free Agent contract with a rebuilding team under rookie Head Coach Bill O'Brien.
