How is saying that the Manning-to-Tyree play is the play of the decade taking a shot at the Patriots?
How is saying the "tuck rule" the most memorable officiating call of the decade? I didn't even put a value judgment on it; I said it was the most memorable. It's the one I remember most, and it's the one a lot of other people remember most, too. The Ed Hochuli call in the Chargers-Broncos game is the only one that comes close to being as notorious that I can think of, but there was a lot less at stake in that game since it wasn't the playoffs, and the Chargers made the playoffs instead of the Broncos anyway. But the biggesst game of travesty of officaiting happened in the Seahawks/Steelers Supber Bowl. The officials absolutely handed that game to the Steelers through a series of terrible calls, taking away like three touchdowns or something like that.
Finally, Spygate was a HUGE scandal no matter what conclusions you drew from it.
I may have taken a single shot at the Patriots in terms of the fact they were allowed to choose what material to turn into the league office...that was it. Then again, what I said is true. I think it would be rather naive to draw conclusions based on what the Patriots turned in...as though assuming that was all their was. Here is another "shot:" there is a school of thought that the NFL had a vested interest to take steps that this scandal went away as quickly as possible. People still have various opinions about it all over the place. If you don't at least label it a scandal, you are in denial. Even if you were found 100% innocent through indisputable evidence, which you weren't, it would still have been a scandal.
Yeah, there I go. You win.
But I'd rather be a fan of the Bills than any other team, too. So I win as well.

Absolutely, and to call it anything less than that is to deny what's one of the best parts of the game of football, as well as one of the worst. Had the Pats made that catch this thread would be taking a whole new path
As to the "best" I don't know, AV's Snow Bowl kick is right up there; imho that moment made believers out of everybody and we've never looked back(nobody has really) until the Tyree catch.
Good or bad plays like those are the kind that make or break a season, never forgotten, and their sheer impossibility of happening is what takes people's breath away. What were the odds of AV's kick going through the uprights? Literally a snowball's chance in hell, same as Tyree's catch. It's painful but that doesn't lessen it as a play which helped define a decade. So random but so incredibly huge, it deserves it's high ranking.
If one of the Pats had made that catch I'd donate a monument of it to Patriot's Place, are you kidding me
Re: Manning to Tyree top ESPN's NFL's All Decade Moments
It should be the #1 all-decade moment, it's one of if not the most remarkable play in Super Bowl history.
"Luck" is such a poor-sport cop out, it was an amazing play.

Actually, I didn't. In some sort of psychotic way I kind of "lol wtf" laughed it off, having no doubt in my mind we wouldn't allow them in the end zone. Obviously, I was wrong. Very wrong.

The accusation, the publicity, the punishment, the controversy, the way it was handled, the calling into question of integrity...shall I go on, or should I just post the definition of scandal?
Re: Manning to Tyree top ESPN's NFL's All Decade Moments
James Harrison's interception in the past SB off the top of my head would get my vote over the Tyree catch. AV's FG against the Raiders too. I'd take the Troy Brown strip against McCree in the Chargers game. Ray Lewis strip of Eddie George.
They should have had biggest fcuk up of the decade.
VanderJerk miss against the Steelers.
The Bus fumble on the 1 yard line in the same game.
Romo snap fumble.
Cardinals giving the game to the Bears (Denny Green game).
Favre 5 INTs vs Rams in the playoffs.
Hasselbeck pick 6 after saying we'll take the ball and score.

There's only two conclusions for Patriots fans on rookies. They are either a bust or being fitted for their bust in Canton.

The Bills are my team, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Which part of that don't you understand?

YOU just hated on the Bills pretty hardcore, didn't you? I was just discussing the article. For the record, I've hated the Patriots even during the years and years and years when they sucked, if only because they are in the AFC East. That's not to say that clouds my judgment about the particulars.
If you are so paranoid as to say that anyone that thinks Manning-to-Tyree was a fantastic play is taking a shot at your team, then God bless you.

IMO, it is the #2 all-decade moment; it led to the winning score, it was not the play that resulted in the winning score.
Adam's kick sailing through the uprights to end Super Bowl 36 is the #1 all-decade moment.
The catch is by far the greatest catch in Super Bowl history.
Probably in the history of the NFL as a matter of fact when you factor in the degree of difficulty (Manning escapes a sure sack, heaves up a prayer and through an incredible feat of athletic skill, the catch is made), the stage on which it played out (the Super Bowl) and the result of the catch (the Giants, 12 point underdogs, went on to win the game and ruin the Patriots perfect season).
All of those things combined make it the greatest catch ever.
