Moreover - he was another defensive leader. Harrison was already getting phased out, and in terms of longetivity with the Pats there's only Bruschi left. Vrabel will be missed, and because we haven't filled his role (unlike SS, WR, QB haha etc.), he will be missed the most.

As for Pioli, he's a close second and would probably have been 1st had BB not shown us that he's still the man on draft day. Well - we'll see that for sure at TC, whether the rookies are good enough... but for the moment, BB seems to have done rather well without Pioli - stack of eager rookies and a stack of picks for next year... not bad.

Blader.
Interestingly, you're the first person to say anything about the draft. I wonder how much influence, if any, Pioli had on the selections even though he left prior to the draft. Otherwise, I think BB walking away with some good picks and two 2-rounders for next year's draft was a masterful job w/o Pioli.

Also, I read an article (on here I believe) that suggests that some of the draft busts in recent memory were guys that Pioli was high on (i.e. Chad Jackson, Gus Scott, Bethel Johnson). Please, don't blast me. I'm just saying that such an article exists.

I gotta go with Jabar Gaffney leaving for Denver,I loved seeing him play at a top level in this offense with Brady,Last year he sucked but there was no Brady so he got a pass.

Why is everyone whining about Vrabel? He looked like he was running in quicksand last year. Too many times, TEs were leaving him in the dust, and he couldnt rush anymore. I know he says he had injuries, and that might be true. The only thing they will miss is Vrabs leadership, and someone else will just have to step up. The pass rush this year will be fine without him.
