Talk about a shadow roster.

News Report:

Following the pulled hamstring of Adalius Thomas, the Patriots have signed the United States Navy to play OLB.

"I checked the league rules," says head coach Bill Belichick, "and since technically the Navy is ONE fighting force, we're allowed to put the entire military branch on the field as one player. We'll probably only use a carrier's worth though, to save on jersey costs."

From the article in the CAPITAL:

Kettani ranks eighth on Navy's all-time rushing list with 2,091 career yards. The 6-foot-1, 233-pound fullback consistently ran the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds in pre-draft workouts for scouts and also possesses a 32-inch vertical leap. He can bench press 395 pounds and clean 335, marks that ranked among the team leaders.

4.6 with a 395 bench press, thats pretty good.

Several scouts and analysts told The Capital that Kettani likely would have been taken in the NFL Draft had there not been questions surrounding his military commitment.
Hmm I like the sound of this guy, good stuff!

Mark my words, when he goes - and I don't anticipate that for several more seasons - he won't gpo to another NFL team. He will ultimately go to Annapolis. And boy, will that be fun to watch.

BBwill leave the NFL to coach Navy? I don't think that will happen...why would he take a step down in competitiveness just because he has links to their program through his father?

I hate when people say "mark my words" like their opinion should be noted for some reason.

Now that would be the ultimate coaching job to build a winner at Navy. No athletic scholarships, and plebe summer to deal with (won't have anyone to play NT after that).

Well, if Mike Wright can play NT. . . .

Actually I never thought about BB going to Annapolis rather than coach another NFL team but now that it's mentioned it's definitely a good possibility. If BB builds that team modeled after how he's helped build the Patriots, he'll have given that school so much more than he could ever give another NFL team. It's the ultimate challenge for him, plus why should he widdle away his later years bucking heads with another franchise? Not every franchise is going to let him do what he does here.

Plus-he sees the NFL writing on the wall; by the time BB's ready to leave NE it'll be a different game.
