Well, I've always wanted Law back in a Pats uniform, and he's always scorned me...maybe I should just realize that he's using as as a ploy for more money and that he doesn't fit here right now...unless he really wants to retire a Patriot and still can be effective as a role player...

Look, I should start off by saying that I agree with everyone here. He is over the hill by football standards, but let's not forget that he was able to cover Randy Moss last year in the game against the Jets. They were matched up one on one for more than just the last play of regulation.
I don't question what he has left in him, the dude is still good.
I just think he'll certainly take the most money that's all, and I just don't see us offering it. Then again, there still has to be more to the Hobbs trade, IMO.
I still think that we'll sign a decent vet somewhere.
I don't think he is the type of guy you bring in as a 4th S. In terms of that role ST are critical, and Ty isn't going to offer what McGowan or someone else does there.

Law was abused in that game pretty much every time he had one-on-one coverage. What the Jets did was put Revis alone and give Law help.

Word up is no interest from BB. He'd already drafted his backup NT.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck." RAH
Signing Law makes about as much sense as re-signing Seau or Colvin or any other athlete past thier prime - This team is much better stacked in the secondary than in recent years.
If Law wants to sit by the telephone and wait for BB to call him if injuries become a problem then he might be worth a dial under desperate circumstances,Otherwise let another team use his older slower ass.

If Law is the man, then why in hell did the Pats invest in
Bodden, Butler, Chung, McGowan, and Springs?
I think they brought in these players to improve a very deficient secondary, but that doesn't mean they will all pan out either.
FWIW--I see no way in hell that Law comes here, but bringing up these 5 guys can't be much of an argument.
Bodden and McGowan could be for competition/depth--and aren't locked in stone
Chung, and Butler are rookies--they have to learn the defense, and earn some playing time on 5-6 DB situations. They aren't day one immediate answers, although I'm sure they'll be good players and have 'some' roles further on in the yr
And Springs--well, I think we're all hoping he's now gonna be a day 1 starter, but he may not be the absolute answer either
Ty Law got his just reward last year playing for the Green Beans instead of the Patriots. Has he even played in a playoff game since leaving New England?
